Gamestop has re-opened X1 preorders for this weekend only. According to the Manager at my local GS, they are able to take more pre-orders for XBOX ONE over the weekend only. Those who do get one preordered over the weekend are guaranteed to get one on launch day. After that unless MS can catch up to demand, they will be a tough find anywhere not just at Gamestop until after the holidays. So if you want a XBOX ONE at launch, this weekend at is the time to get it pre-ordered.

Likely there will be more PS4s available at launch. No matter what the Sony fans say on these forums, the Xbox One is in higher demand (and rightly so) in North America.
I think it's a safe guess that as we get closer and closer to the 2013 Holiday Shopping Season (towards the end of the year), more retailers will be taking Pre-Orders for the Xbox One.
I don't think there will be any significant shortages of that console, in terms of supplies to big-chain stores, anyway.

Here's some news for you: Xbox One is a far more advanced console (voice and gesture control) than the PS4, and Xbox One has better much better exclusives as well.....and guess what? Walmart.com and Target.com still has them I doubt target will ever run out of x1's or ps4's for that matter since most people probably went to gamestop, amazon and best buy first and I'm sure walmart is likely to get hit with consumer preorders than target. Kmart.com still has both too.

Here is the thing though. I get the impression that maybe MS wasn't ready to launch in 2013, but when Sony decided that they were launching this Fall, MS couldn't hold off. I think from a sheer production viewpoint the XBOX ONE will be more scarce through the holidays until MS can catch up with demand. It will be like the Wii all over again. There will be a decent alotment at launch, but then there will be the sparatic shipments of 8 here, 12 there 20 here and so on and you will have to be at the right place at the right time to get one!

what made you get it, you seemed like you were against it from what i remembered?
I'm still a little wary by everything they've done. But at some point I will want one so this is good news really. However I have a crap ton of Wii U games to buy this holiday plus I'll probably pick up a PS4. So it will be a while before I grab one anyways I'm thinking.

It is because of xbox brand, I am not buying the X1.
