Let's say a FPS, do you rush through it, or do you explore every corner and every room? I'm the kind of person who explore everything on my first playthrough, in almost every genre.

I loot everything and finish all side mission in a RPG, explore everything in a FPS/TPS, complete all optional events in a racing game, on my first playthrough.

I usually look around allot, but I don`t actively try to 100% it or anything. At least, not on my FIRST play-through anyways.

I only do more than two if I really like the game, and even then, these days I rarely do so with so little time I have on my hands.

In something like CoD or Halo, I go for the Vetran/ Legendary solo run first. I then do follow up playthroughs at the my need (Want to explore, achivies, challenges, fun, etc.)

In RPGs i explore every nook and cranny since there is the possibility of reward.

For fps, i dont go exploring unless im low on ammo or something.... as there rarely is anything to see in those nooks and crannies.

Depends on a game. usually try and go trough everything. Sometimes the game is such a snoozefest or just crap that i just want to finish it.

I savor the first playthrough. Usually I'd play on a harder difficulty so it can last a bit longer because I know I won't go back to it for a long long while after.

I really milk my playthroughs out, and just take my time with them. Depending on the game though, I've rushed through some and taken forever on others. Some games I check every corner, others I just go from point A to B. Just like I do in life, I just Wing it :P

I look around and explore. 2nd time through(if the game is good enough to play a second time), I just dilly dally and experiment with different combat/gameplay scenarios. And if it's an RPG, I make different decisions or take different paths the second time through.

I usually go pretty fast the first playthrough. That way I can see where the mechanics of the gameplay are going and how well they are tested or what lengths they are put to. That way I can get a good idea of what the game is and then appreciate every detail and 100% the game if I really like it.

I explore to an extent, I'm not one of those people that tries to find every hidden item on the first playthrough though either games though with mission lists I'll knock off side missions before critical story missions if I can, RPGs are getting better at helping you keep track of these missions so they're ordered, usually select a mission and it'll pop up waypoints all the way to the end of it

I used to try and do everything a game had to offer on the first playthrough, not anymore though. I try to beat a game fairly fast, but if I really like the game, I will play it many more times.

Depends on the game. If exploring is beneficial at all, I do it. I cannot help myself lol, I hate feeling as though I missed something in an RPG! But if it is a linear FPS with no point in "exploring", I just play and have fun.

I explore in rpg's and progressively rush more through playthroughs, I rush in fps' all the time though, never really given a good reason to explore, just kill stuff.

I usually only play through single player games for the first time so I try to take my time with it...this is probably why I don't finish many games. For instance if it's an RPG I try to complete almost every side mission I come across but if I don't it doesn't really matter. For FPS or TPS though I just run through it at a normal speed. Although.... I am currently replaying GOW2 though since my friend wanted to beat it in insane mode :P

Explore as much for the first playthrough then finish everything in subsequent playthroughs. Usually my first playthourgh is the longest though, once you know which way to go and how to do it best it shaves off substantial game time.

I like to take my time, yeah. Bugs me when games like COD force you to keep moving at all times. But I'm not going to ruin the whole game by trying to get all the collectibles the first time either. That s*** is for lunatics.

I rush through FPS.

Almost everyother genre I take my time to explore everything.

I tend to rush through genres I'm not a big fan of. I used to like FPSs but now I can only just play them once or twice (I hate Online Multiplayer) That is what killed the genre for me because most FPSs are Online Multiplayer only after Singleplayer/Coop Campaigns.

Well first I read the forums to see what game settings my fellow PC elitist are playing the game at. Then I tweak the game settings to play at the highest possible settings, but not before I spend 45 minutes installing and updating the game. After that I notice the game isn't running at 60FPS maxed out and start whining. After that I soak up my tears take the game out it's drive and go back on to the forums to find out what hardware I need in order to run the game maxed out at 60FPS. Once I find out I head over to newegg.com and buy the extra parts I need to run the game at those settings. I don't play the game until my hardware arrives at my door which usually takes UPS 3 days. Once I receive the the parts I spend about 2 hours installing the parts and then I reboot my PC. I spend an additional hour updating my drivers and running benchmark test. After all that I'm ready to pop my game back into the drive and start playing, but not of course before spending a half an hour tweaking the settings to get the game to run at my high standards.

And that's my first time playthrough experience of a game. :)

I play all games at the pace they set. Only in games designed around exploration to I stop and really look around.
