Halo Infinite is on the verge of falling out of the top 10 most-played games on Xbox, and old favorites that do have engaged, long-term playerbases like Apex, Fortnite, Warzone, GTA 5, Destiny, Roblox and Rainbow Six Siege have all passed it.
People keep saying the ravager is the worst weapon in the game, and that's probably true (energy weapons in general need a buff), but I'm finding it to be excellent for objective denial in CTF

There was a ResetEra thread about this topic a month ago. All signs point to Halo not hitting with this generation of gamer. I speculated it might be a “boomer shooter” last week. It’s a great game to me. But I’m 38. The kids are all about BR’s, Overwatch and Valorant these days.
Halo Infinite is actually up 3 spots on the Xbox most played list. It was out of the top 10 last week, but sitting at 9 right now. The bad press must have awaken the Halo fan base. I know I was on this past weekend

343 is entirely to blame. Game could have been great.
I also blame MS for not delaying the game yet again! The game wasn't 100% ready and while I agree 343 has a lot to answer for but MS, all they care is the holiday sales hence why they wouldn't delay Halo: Infinite.

Again, I like the game. I’m just kinda shocked at the consumer reaction to it. You know damn well if a once brand defining IP for one of the other guys performed like this, you’d be all over it. I get why you don’t wanna talk about it. So don’t. Don’t come into these threads if you can’t handle it. I’m sure the Xbox forum has plenty of fluff topics you’d like to discuss. Or maybe start a thread discussing the “value” of Game Pass… That would give you and a couple other users here something positive to talk about.

Yeah, Phil and them knew what was launching. They just couldn’t wait anymore. But I do feel like 343 was being misleading. The “content complete” bs from January 2021 was clearly a lie. And they‘ve continued to be shady around roadmaps and delays. It’s just a shame it had to be Halo that this is happening to.

Just look at the amount of youtube videos that's been coming out in the last month or so. Me, the so called Infinite hater (halo living in my head 24/7 etc etc blah blah), has predicted that after the honeymoon period ends, the game will be exposed, and that 9/10 is nothing else but a number painted with a spray can on top of a 6/10.
Halo Infinite is not a Halo game. Its an imination created by an untalented group of people. They might've nailed the gunplay (a very important aspect of the game), but FAILED AT EVERYTHING ELSE. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
Around summer time, this game will be completely irrelevant and deleted from everyone's radar. By then, so little will give two shits about this game that they could delay coop and forge to 2025 and nobody will even notice.

I love the game, played some with the boys last weekend. They do need more maps, but the game itself is great. I find myself hopping on it every week when my buddies are on. (Talking MP idgaf about halo SP)
Also why is being in 7 or 9th place bad?? You guys think it's bad if it doesn't beat Fortnite, COD, and Roblox numbers?? From one of the lists someone posted Halo is more played than Madden?? I'd say that's pretty strong, especially for an arena/arcade shooter. *Shrug*

The reason why ER is this successful is because they've offered an insane amount of content in a very successful formula, and all of it in a game with no mtx or any bullshit that the core gamer hates. Because there's no BS and the content is this good, the core gamer/hardcore (or whatever you might call them) are happy, and the word of month is VERY positive. That alone is a massive free marketing for Fromsoft on the social media, youtube, twitch, etc. People say that the casual demographic is way more important to cater to, because there's a hundred times more of them than your "hardcore" crowd. Reality is, if you please the hardcore gamer, they'll be vocal about it, and from word of mouth, it will sell to the casuals just because they keep seeing and hearing about the damn game. At the end, the dev is happy because of sales. The "hardcore" crowd is happy because they got a good game with no bs and oversimplifications of everything (Ubishit says hello). And the casual gamer is happy because they've discovered a new game, something that might've not happen if everyone wasn't talking about the damn thing. "Well oiled machine" applies to the current Fromsoft. They better not change.

I have not stated anything in defense of Halo. In fact, I have been pretty clear and critical about the release of a full price game that has the least value proposition than any other Halo game numerous times but here we have you claiming I am defending the game.🤔

Halo inf MP was fun at release but the modes on offer are lacking compared to what would normally be offered, a general lack of things like forge, 343/MS's inability to foster a community, 343's inability to offer a complete campaign suite with the normal options or adapt to trends like the option of offering a BR also all point to some failings on 343's end.
I haven't touched it since the campaign launched. I can wait another year.
I don't understand why 343 doesn't just make a Battle Royale mode. I understand they're attempting to attract the MLG crowd but Gen Z kids find arena death match game modes 'slow'.
