I have been following reviews for the recent releases. The hype for Bioshock is through the roof, but it has a serious fault in design, no death penalty (disappointing since I have been waiting for it on my PC). I expected GS to be more severe about this in their review. Anyway, the PS3 has games to play, three magnificent releases, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword and Lair. I can't understand the widely confilicting reviews for these games. There are negative aspects to these games, but they seem to be magnified by reviews. Heavenly Sword is repetitive, Warhawk has a steep learning curve, and lair has unconventional control scheme. Reviewers seem to either love these games or just plain hate them. What bothers me is that for Bioshock, the fault in design seem to be a game breaker, while for those games they are just problems that don't make them perfect. However, they are still penaltize more for these problems. Are the reviewers putting the PS3 to a higher standard than other consoles?
In all honesty, I really don't see any titles of the quality of Bioshock and i'm looking hard atm believe me. Warhawk could be good and UT will be...well UT but it does need something to hit back at ME, Bioshock and H3 and it isn't the games you mentioned.
Bioshock is one of the best gaming experiences I've had this year, but I agree with the no death penalty. There definitely should have been some incentive to stay alive.

There isn't going to be anything on PS3 as good bioshock until 2008 when MGS4 comes out.Riviera_Phantom
What happens if, like me, you don't care for MGS as a series? Currently the things i'm most excited about seeing on the PS3 are LBP and err Warhawk maybe. Then again I've been loving the Bluray so I guess its all good :D.
Wow, I came into this topic expecting another "just wait, the good games are coming" tirade, but I didn't expect this. So you're saying, forget Bioshock and pick up Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Warhawk?

Better versions of multiplats? I guess it's not assured but looking at past history the multiplats have been better in every case except FNR3 and Oblivion and for those to be considered better you have to discount downloadable content and how much better XBL works than PSN.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire's flaws were not as bad as BioShock's lack of death penalty..........go get Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire for the PS3 and forget Bioshock!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol:
BioShock is currently the 4th best reviewed game of all time, and has 15 perfect 100% scores. Those must be some great, and I mean great, games to top BioShock.

Did you even read TC's post?? Or did you just come in, knowing it wasn't talking good about Bioshock, and the fanboy in you kicked in?
What he's saying is that the reviews have been skewed. That the faults in Bioshock seem to be glorified by the reviews where like issues with PS3 games have been beaten to death. And to simply say that Bioshock will kill those PS3 games is ridiculous and ignorant. All three titles will be very high quality and will push gaming limits in some way, shape, or form.
As "true" gamers, you all should praise Sony and their devs for making these games.
TC some like harsh death penalties, and others don't. If you dislike the chamber so much you could just not use it. (save frequently). Not to mention that there are quite a few potential AAA 360 exclusives coming soon.

true bioshock is not cutting edge but it is an artistic masterpiece :D edit: i respect sony, i would have a ps3 if it was cheeper buy rite now i see no game to justify $600. buy i have many fpr my $1600 high end pc

well for instance, id say theres a good chance the ps3 will get an upgraded version of bioshock.
Oh yes, let's all hype a God of War remake that got 7.0, Lair which got even lower, and a downloadable game. OH NOES BIOSHOCK IS TEH SUX NOW. NEVERMIND THE FACT THAT IT IS THE HIGHEST RATED GAME ON GAMERANKINGS.COM
