I beg to differ with you and "them" as well. Final Fantasy VIII is my all time best.Great game in many ways, but the fact that the enemies level up with you is enough to make me hate this game.
Mike Tyson's punch out. It's been that way for 20 years and it will be that way til the day i die. Of course as generations have gone on i've played better games w/ better graphics, stories, sound, etc., but it doesn't matter. Better does not equal favorite in my book. i dont play it anymore. but i must of played battlefield 2 for the ps2 online for like 2 years, and i didnt really give a crap about any other game at the time

I actually love the fact that the enemies level up with you. It gives the game a sense of realism, similar to Oblivion. But that shouldn't be something to hate the game about.

It gives the game a sense of realism, similar to Oblivion. But that shouldn't be something to hate the game about. Yes, it should. It ruins the whole point of levelling. That's why Morrowind > Oblivion.

It actually helps to maintain the challenging gameplay.

Huh? How is it that lvling up in FFVIII and make the boss battle harder... would you mind elaborate on that? I think you're saying that the bosses lvls up as well? If so, then no. Bosses don't lvl up with you as you progress. On the first mission, where I had to go into the cave and kill Ifrid (spelling), I lvled up so much that I killed him in two or three shots.
