What the hell is an innovate racing simulator?

You pick a car and you drive around a track alot. Thats the foundation of the genre and it isn't going anywhere in a hurry.

dont downplay the greatness of the plot of MGS

and Forza 2 is fun for me, so...opinion is opinion, preference is preference, its cool

Indeed. Many people accuse me of not being able to understand the plot since I don't like it. Thing is, I think I would have liked it better if I did NOT understand it...

But, MGS3's plot more than made up for MGS2's, so all's good.

Forza 2 is a great game but I found out personally that the game grows on you. It starts off slow and pretty decent, then you start to customize your own cars more and mroe and tune them and you just get really into it. That's at least what happened to me. DA_B0MB

Most games are pretty much like that.

I know I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Forza 1 was so lame that I rented this one and its just as generic and boring as the first.

I just rented Forza 2 today (thank god) and why does everyone talk so much about this game? It does NOTHING new! It's like every other car sim game out there, I had just as much fun playing it as I did playing GT4 on PS2, and the graphics are not very good at all! The only think I liked about it was the paint jobs you could do to your car thats it, it got borring before I entered the semi-pro races. I should have rented Viva Pinata instead or something! catlin_czirr

I'm sorry you can't appreciate great racing sims.

You know what? You're not maneuvering the car realistically unless you're using some sort of steering wheel controller.

The in-game physics in sim racers are still far more realistic than arcade racers. You still have to implement proper control with the brakes, acceleration, and turning degrees (which can still be properly represented on a controller, the analog stick and triggers are pressure sensetive) to successfuly turn corners at high speeds. Overdo something and you spin out, slam into a wall, and basically lose your footing. Real racing isn't pedal-to-the-metal, you have to excersize control. Arcade racers let you go full throttle all the way, which would never work in real life.
