Forza 2 Demo OFFICIALLY RELEASED !

Early impressions say it looks a bit ass. I'm afraid the jaggies will take a massive dump on my 55" TV. But anyway, it's the gameplay that counts.

Funny. In the 360 forum some people are going nuts over it. One guy even said it looks better than PGR 3(but in his oppinion).

I guess some of them are just getting overly excited. Heck someone was seriously not thinking straight and posted photos from is cell phone, which made the game look like crap. IT was way too blurry.

I just want to get this out of the way. I'm a 100% lemming and dont own any other console other than the xbox360(xboxlive gamer tag: Homer94)With that being said, after playing the demo I can say that the gameplay is amazing. However, the graphics are NOT what I and I'm sure many others were expecting from this game. I think its now safe to say that GT HD> Forza 2 graphicaly.

Those amazing videos that were posted not long ago must have been from a replay view because the actual ingame graphics leave a lot to be desired. Part of me finds this sad. I just don't see why we can't have both amazing gameplay as well as amazing graphics on such a powerful system. I'm sure there are reasons why this game is a bit of a let down when it comes to visuals but I for one don't know what they are. Oh well....I guess gameplay>graphics, right?

yea I gotta say.... the whole "download speeds increased by X 3 "  im thinking is BS.  and probably not even 3/4 of the people that are gonna play this game have even woke up yet to download it :(   XBL is gonna get hammered once everyone starts getting it.

Replays = 30FPS, beefed up AA and AF (I think), motion blur, depth of field.
Gameplay = 60FPS, nothing (pretty much).

It'd be cool if you could turn the replay post processing effects on and off during gameplay. Choose between 60FPS or 30FPS with better image quality. But meh, that won't ever happen.

Second review. 9/10. German. The first one was Italian and 93%.

I'm at 89% now. Probably gonna take another 20 minutes...

Yeah that is definitely worthy noting. The Graphics might still be polished up a little before release.

I'm loving the demo, sure the graphics are nothing spectacular, but they're more than adequate, also the car models are beautiful in the showroom and in game/race IMO. The only thing that struck me as poor is the overall lighting on the track, it just looked dull (the lighting) although they could just be going for the (plain/normal/everyday) lighting look.

As for the gameplay, thats just flawless, every car feels and handles differently, the A.I is even better IMO than Forza 1 which was awesome back in the day.  The damage is actually alot deeper than i thought it would be which is great, although actual mechanical damage is off in the demo so i can only comment on the aesthetic.

Overall, its not gonna win any best looking racer awards thats for sure (based on the demo), but it plays fantastically and looks perfectly fine for the audience its aiming at (car/racing enthusiasts ).

Yep, MS' certification can take ages, so its entirely possible the demo is from a few month old build of the game. 

I'm testing the new Background downloading on this one..I started about 10 minutes ago...Given the fact that this is a major titles I would expect the downloads to be a bit slow...heretrix

Yeah alot of people have been downloading slow, but considering there are alot of people that have stayed around just to download it i'm not surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if this demo matches the record lost planets set.

Everything else: Forza 2 has a ****load of features and this is where the game shines. The amount of information that you recieve from your car and the way you drive is amazing.

As far as I'm concerned, and from what I've seen from the demo in the little time that I've tooled around with it, if you are a racing sim fan and you enjoyed the first Forza, you will love this one just as much. I know I'm buying it.....AND the wheel.

Wow.... This is one of the most unbiased reviews I have seen from system wars.  You make good points.  GTHD has better graphics, but GTHD is not a complete game...its one track with one car racing at a time.  Froza 2 is a complete game, with a heck of a lot of features.  It probably not reach AAA status, but it will be a high AA never the less.

does the demo work with the wheel? I might just pick it up today, even though I'm really getting the wheel for Nascar, I wouldn't mind checking it out with the demo.....if it works that is.

Yes the wheel works great it's alot more sensitive than pgr3 but hey forza2 is a sim.

I got up before 6 am this morning to start the download... took me only about fifteen minutes :)
