I was bored so I got Forza 2 today popped it in my 360 and I thought I was playing Forza 1 WTF happened ??

So I checked my cable to make sure it was on HDTV and it was !!!

Is it just me or does PGR3 look a hell of alot better ??

Really FM2 came out way after PGR3 how come it's so ugly ??

Is this not the flagship racing game on the 360 ??

WTF happened

You popped in Forza 2, and then you realized that all racing games are exactly the **** same. No wonder you were worried about the graphics. Racing games get way too much attention on SW.

Exactly. You'd think Forza 2 stole his girlfriend or something, since he was complaining about it then. Jeez, it's a good game, let it go.

I don't care. Forza 2 was not a disappointment for me graphically because I, usually a graphics whore, decided that on this one game I didn't care. Just give me that spectacular racing engine and I'm happy.

Can't, I don't buy racing games. Lemme guess, one has damage and one doesn't. One has nuremburg doesn't? Damn, what else is unique among racing games.

The point I was originally trying to make was that people here always say "FPS' are so generic" and then they salivate over say, great racing graphics, or one new track in a racing game. The genre is stale.

Gameplay happened. They must've crazily decided that sim fans would rather have realistic driving physics than ultra shiny graphics. Silly Turn 10.

BTW, it doesn't look that bad. It doesn't even look "bad" at all.

Burnout is stylized, urban, gritty, covered in scraps of burning metal, and has extreme car damage with vehicles being ripped to shreds and exploding. Harsh lighting and smoke abound. It's got a hugely brutal, visceral style.

GT has fantastically immaculate cars racing around smooth roads in idylic rural settings, with soft rain and light fog effects. It's got a relaxing, smooth feel.

The two games look quite different.

EDIT: The genre is far from stale, and if you haven't even SEEN burnout, then I doubt you're one to judge. FPS ain't stale either, Bioshock and forge say hi.

It's still the best sim to date on consoles despite the average visuals. GT5 will put the final nail in its coffin though.

It is indeed a very rare occasion when Burnout gets any recognition on this board, so can you blame me? Almost all racing threads are GT vs. Forza or GT vs. PGR, which all seem pretty similar if you ask me.

Yeah it does the last racing game I played on the 360 was pgr3 a launch game that looks way better imo that's a problem. I play racing games on pc so I don't think FM2 has to beat them but damn I was really let down. I also have F1 on the ps3 and that looks way better also even burnout owns FM2.

True. Burnout has always been a multiplatform game with extraordinarily good luck with ports, so attempting to declare ownage over it would be futile.

I suppose if you're not into racers, I can't blame you for not knowing (you did catch the fact that GT has no damage, I give you props for that) but maybe you should've looked at a screen from each game. Woulda made things a bit easier.

EDIT: Your point on GT Vs Forza Vs PGR is also well taken. The sim racing genre tends to look exactly like one another, mostly because they have an identical standard to emulate: reality.

Arcade racing is where you get a mixture of art styles, like Burnout.

Ya, the only problem with that is I wouldn't piss on PGR3's gameplay if it was burning. It's just ho hum. Turn left, car goes left, turn right, car goes right, gas, brake. That's it. Forza actually demands you worry a little about actual driving dynamics in order to be fast. I'm sure they could have then focused on graphics, but that results in a game that takes 4 or 5 years to come out as evidenced by every GT game ever released. I like playing things better than hyping them.

But whatever, if you're only concerned with graphics, maybe you should stick with CGImovies. Graphics are incredible, and you don't have to worry about gameplay at all.

Just to let the PS3 users know . You all can stop trying to kill the Forza 2 hype now. The game is out and now for awhile. It got a AAA score. I know PS3 users hate they can not get a AAA exclusive game but face it Forza 2 is a good game and scored very good.

Edit- Do not worry PS3 still has a demo of a exclusive racer and you even get another demo soon for it. True you may have to pay for the next demo

This game had hype why so far it's nothing special maybe after I get online I might change my mind but right now it's just seems average. Could be I am used to playing pc games and that's why this seems so meh ??

As for the ps3 F1 owns FM2 imo it's a much better sim with better graphics if your into F1 racing ??

Forza Motorsport 2 for Xbox 360 - Forza Motorsport 2 Xbox360 Game - Forza Motorsport 2 Xbox 360 Video Game

Forza 2 delivers on nearly every aspect you'd want in a Forza sequel. It drives incredibly, it's wonderfully presented, and it's rich with modes and features.

9.2

Gamespot disagrees.

Also, F1 is complete garbage. I can't believe you'd actually say it's better. I will no longer take you serious on this topic. :(

no, Forza looks better than PGR3, but still has tons of jaggies.. it's a pitty, cause the physics and customisation options are great.

this games shows that bad graphics can take some of the fun out of the game....

be prepared to use the 1 or 2 dominant cars in each class that everyone downloads the tuning options for. Online is broken, they need to balance it out.

The problem is that with 360 hardware to get 60fps with a mere 8cars it requires no Anti aliasing meaning jag fest!

Most if not all Lemmings tried to compare Forza to GT5 for a while

That's like comparing a Wii game to a PS3

To appreciate the graphics you have to enjoy the damage, smoke effects, tire tracks, physics. The HDR is great and the reflections and lighting are pretty awesome. It's not a game that goes after flashy in your face graphics, you have to look at the whole packageto appreciate the graphics. The sound though is the best in any racing game to date.

I should be finished the game by tomarrow thenI will hop online, so far the ai has not put up much of a fight even on simulation. I hope I will be top 20 by next week ifI have time to find out what cars are the best in their class. Are there any updates or new tracks to down load ??BrooklynBomber

I'm not sure i believe you have the full game of FM2. The career takes a huge amount of time, i would say at least 50+ hours with the easiest difficulty. You just got the game today and you expect to finish it tomorrow??? Come on man the endurance races take at least 5 hours each and there's over 10 of them! Wait thats 50 hours just there.

Also to get in the top 20 in the leader-boards in a week is almost impossible, unless you get a pro to help you. It takes weeks just to master the customisation of cars, and to fine tune them, then you have to master the tracks etc. Basically its very hard, and takes a whole lot of time to get anywhere in this game. You can't just play it a couple of days and expect to get everything out of it, this game takes months of dedication todo that. Have you even looked into the paint system for the cars or the auction house?

Oh and the graphics are fine, especially for the amount of content in this game. There was an update straight away for the game when launching it online(to sort out the jaggies), you should of known that, and you candownload new cars, I'm not sure about tracks yet.

Oh and the graphics are fine, especially for the amount of content in this game. There was an update straight away for the game when launching it online(to sort out the jaggies), you should of known that, and you candownload new cars, I'm not sure about tracks yet.

The game is not that hard really unless your used to playing burnout,it's not that long either. I know the real tracks already so I just need to master the fake tracks and as for tuning the options pale to what's on pc. I am not into rice so the auction house has little appeal for me and the graphics are horrible they look like forza 1 with better lighting. The damage also seems cosmetic as I have tried to destroy a car and could not even get a wheel to come off or the car to flip. As for the update all I got was a couple of cars ??

Do you have the game you can hire drivers for the endurance races if you want, anyway the game is ugly and the wheel is okay but the gamepad seems to get better times for me and manual seems to have little impact on times only saves tires. It does not take months to get times in this game I already have top 50 times.

Funny.. thats the one thing both Forza games got rated down for.. sound.

[QUOTE="BrooklynBomber"]I should be finished the game by tomarrow thenI will hop online, so far the ai has not put up much of a fight even on simulation.

Yea sure mate, i believe you. Whats your GT, and what track were you using on the time trial, so i can check? Whats hireing drivers have anything to do with it, it still takes the same amount of time, you also get hardly any credits that way. Oh have a look at the top 100 times on each track in the time trail and tell me how many used auto? It seems to me your just a hater. Forza 2 is the best racing sim to date, and many many people will agree with me.

Forza 2's graphics are very good, framerate is outstanding. Overall, fantastic game besides that fact that they just wiped my online stats recently, and I am extremely pee'd off.

You popped in Forza 2, and then you realized that all racing games are exactly the **** same. No wonder you were worried about the graphics. Racing games get way too much attention on SW.

Vyse_The_Daring

Compare burnout and GT

Can't, I don't buy racing games. Lemme guess, one has damage and one doesn't. One has nuremburg doesn't? Damn, what else is unique among racing games.

The point I was originally trying to make was that people here always say "FPS' are so generic" and then they salivate over say, great racing graphics, or one new track in a racing game. The genre is stale.

Buy a Wii, its good for 'gamers' like you

Seriously, you dont know anything about racing games so dont make comments about them

Same here hard to believe it's AAA on pc this would be maybe 8 tops the tuning options are a joke. The physics also are way behind as well plus the damage is fake. The graphics are horrible why this got a 9.2 is beyond me ??

I can only assume it's for the stickers they seem to be popular but I am not into rice only racing. This should keep me busy till RACE07 comes out on pc a real racing game.
