Forza 2....Graphically not what I was expecting.

I just want to get this out of the way. I'm a 100% lemming and dont own any other console other than the xbox360(xboxlive gamer tag: Homer94). Although I'm a lemming I consider myself to be an honest one at that and I call it as I see it. With that being said, after playing the demo I can say that the gameplay is amazing. However, the graphics are NOT what I and I'm sure many others were expecting from this game. I think its now safe to say that GT HD> Forza 2 graphicaly.

Those amazing videos that were posted not long ago must have been from a replay view because the actual ingame graphics leave a lot to be desired. Part of me finds this sad and it makes me angry. I just don't see why we can't have both amazing gameplay as well as amazing graphics on such a powerful system. I'm sure there are reasons why this game is a bit of a let down when it comes to visuals but I for one don't know what they are. I't wouldnt bother me one bit if they would just delay this game for a few months in order to get the graphics to where they need to be. Looking like a Next Gen game. PLease MS..delay this game just for a few months. I would even be happy if they would reduce down to 30 frames per sec in order to get more detail and effects into the game. I think 60 frames per sec is kinda overrated. Please! Oh well....I guess gameplay>graphics, right?

Early on they hyped this game up to be a graphical showcase, and in the end they kinda failed to deliver.  They should have just kept the focus on the gameplay, which is what the original Forza did well.Teufelhuhn

They did focus on the gameplay :| and I'll take 60fps with crash damage. Sure it's not as good looking as PGR3 but it has it where it counts, in the gameplay department.

Yes I did. Sorry. I guess I'm just kinda pissed off. I really think that the developers were kinda misleading when it came to the graphics for this game. I really think they could have made the game look better. Beck, even PG3 looks better than this game. I'm sorry. I'm mad! Why can't we have both amazing gameplay as well as graphics. I've played the demo and I admit it's not as good graphically as I was expecting. But I'll still get it. Eurogamer.de have given it 9/10 it will be a great racer especially online where you can take your customized car with your own spray job and race it to your hearts content against other peoples mean machines.

Isn't that what people wanted?. The game still looks good, it has great crash damage and slick framerate. They picked a bad level to showcase it, not much scenery, kinda plain. Other tracks will look better.

i'm still downloading it, but from what i've seen i totaly agree, the game looks just a bit better than the xbox one, i was expecting much more from this developer because forza 1 was impressive. I think i agree 30fps rock solid would have been fine if they could bump up the visuals. So far PGr3 looks considerably better and that was a launch title.

I'm probably going to buy it anyway coz i already have the MS wheel, but my most wanted racing game of the year now is Colin McRae Dirt....long live rally

For me its more like ...

Playing PGR3 -wowomgwtf teh graphics .. ten minutes later, great but shallow racing.

Playing Forza = Nice graphics, omgbbqwtf gameplay and features that last alot longer than shiny pretty graphics.

Be honest, any fantastic looking game that you get, how long does that wow factor last when it comes to graphics?, for me its about 3 hours, then the game just looks normal, and thats when the gameplay matters, which Forza has bucketloads of.

Not saying that PGR3 isnt a fantastic game as i'm a huge PGR fan and love the way the game plays, but when it comes to gameplay features and depth, Forza outshines it in every way. IMO

haha they forget real lap times are recorded by pro racing drivers, ppl who expect you should be able to do equal times with their little controller and no skill and therefore making the game "realistic" are kidding themselves.

those of you who say the graphics suck.. are you playing in HD? It looks much better than PGR3 on my TVMxPxPunk

I just finished getting in a couple run on the demo

1. Graphics - well they are not as polished as I would have liked it to jaggie but I am sure the game will be better and no in car view still sob

2. Sound - no problems here it sounds great in surround

3. Gameplay - The wheel works great I was pulling drifts with the mustang and 350z with no problems no evo sob but it feels alot diffrent than pgr3 more sensitive. The brakes also need work they lock to easy as there is not enough resistance.

4. Online - none but hey it's a demo

5. AI - it sucks seems to be set on easy

6. Damage - no improvement here but I did try the cars just can't be totaled it seems

7. Tracks - just mugello and it's the short track I was hoping for the ring so I could get a real workout

8. Cars - I have not drove them all but only the r2 cars seem to be well done the  c class seems to need more work compaired to forza 1 imo but I will try to get a better feel with more seat time.

Over all the demo is good with the graphics being the only major let down to me.

No ones saying GT is fake, but saying its realistic because someone gets similar lap times to real life races is just ridiculous.

I have every GT and in no way shape or form is it as deep as Forza and probably never will be unless they overhaul the entire engine.  Maybe if you looked past your fanboyism you'd accept that.

PGR3 graphics look really good. but Forza 2 graphics look umm how do i say this, not up to par. but the gameplay is sweet . maybe the finished product will look better then the demo.

i have to say though, if GTHD demo looks good now, i cant even imagine how GT5 is going to look. it probably the best looking racing sim this gen.

The damage is only cosmetic in the demo.

And there's so much missing in the demo that's in the full game. Online, livery editor, auction house, cutsomization, tuning. All the stuff that makes the game awesome. Can't wait. One more month. :(

As long as gt5 has damage and offical online multiplayer with voice I will be happy.

What did you expect?  The game looks the same as I have seen in screenshots and videos for months, it's not like there was a surprise :P  It's good, but in a cartoony sort of way.  You can tell their art direction didn't take them towards complete realism, which was the same thing with the original Forza.

I really like the way it looks... it's not ultra-realistic and it's not meant to be.

I think the AI is pretty good for the most part as well, since racers will mostly do what they can to avoid hitting you as long as it doesn't take them too far off their line.  It's certainly a lot better than in any other racing game I've played.

The AI does not offer any competition even drifting I still came in 3rd place after I gave the ai a small lead of about 3 seconds. I brake checked the ai and it slowed way down and the cars do not protect the inside at all. I used the vette to get a real run in and pulled a 1:02.9 the 2nd place ai car finished with a best 1:05.2 that sucks.

I don't know what's with all this Forza hate because the game is great. Graphics are good enaugh, actually better then PGR3 and controls are fantastic.

About the AI we don't know on what difficoult it's set so please stop complaining but i don't even care about the AI because i will play only online.

Damage is the same as in Forza1 wtf? how can you tell it's no damage in the demo only cosmetic damage.

I played the game with assis and without assis and both feel great, but of course i prefere no assis :P

I really like the awesome sens of speed in the R2 class it's so damn fast and smooth.

I like the demo very much but some people are just never satisfied :roll

This demo is great imo better then the full version of that PGR3 crap who is everybody praising too much.

I just played it and I'm very dissapointed. First the graphics are just not what they should be or what they promised. Worst of all its full of jaggies, even worse than pgr3 (check the mercedes in A class, ouch). Almost makes me wish I didn't buy my lcd tv. GT4's cars have less jaggies.

The damage is not realistic at all. I can still drive the car after crashing with 100 mph into a barrier and this was one of the hyped features. I get some scratches on the front but that's it. The handling is much less realistic than what i was expecting. Feels a bit arcady even. I don't care if it does a billion physics calculations, they haven't got it right. AI is ok but nothing spectacular. They just seem to get out of your way when driving next to them. And I do so hope they put control customisation in the final game cause I can't drive with the triggers but the pgr3 demo had the same so i think it will be ok.

Ofcourse they could fix a few things in the final version but that hasn't happened with alot of demo's. This is it. I don't really care about building your own car or the marketplace features. I just want a good racer. 

I also have a ps3 and prefer GT:HD demo to this. Looks much much better and still has better handling. You lems overhyped this to death.

Car don't look anywhere near that good on my 40" lcd. The jaggies really are awefull and all over the cars. They don't even have a flat roof, more like stairs.

It looks great for a Xbox game,PGR3 was a launch game 1.5 years ago and these guys couldn't even top that.

You guys are funny, you do know it's a demo?, there is more crash damage in the final game and the graphics are still being touched up. I know people expected more from the graphics but I don't see why it should get in the way of your enjoyment of the game.

And those pics are not awful, stop the trolling.

kind of like Sony said they'd deliver and here we are half-way through 2007 without any decent games :S
