Forza 2....Graphically not what I was expecting.

Car don't look anywhere near that good on my 40" lcd. The jaggies really are awefull and all over the cars. They don't even have a flat roof, more like stairs.

But for the graphically impressive game that it has to be the sequal of it is just not living up to the hype.

Graphics is on par the PGR3, top notch gameplay and runs on 60fps!

I think people are confusing actual graphics with graphical style. When you compare forza and GT:HD (which I personally wouldnt do till GT 5 is out) the textures look better on forza, the car models are as good, Forza looks smoother and its backgrounds are better. The big difference is only in the colour scheme, GT looks more real due to the colours of everything while Forza looks more colourful than real life actually is.

For me Forza graphics look good, its silky smooth and the textures are top notch, car models are good. I can look past the more gamey colour styling but thats down to personal preferance. Its a real shame that people are going to say its not as good as GT:HS purley on this one thing but thats the way the crowds will see it I guess.

I will still be buying this no matter what and I have no doubt it will be a better game than any GT ever, just as Forza 1 was when it was release.

what hype?  noone i've seen has hyped the graphics.. Forza has ALWAYS been about true simulation while the competition boasts pretty pictures...

Exactly... I actually rather enjoy the art style.

I think people totally miss the point about Forza 2. While I would have loved it if the graphics were better, This game has never been about that. It's a racing simulator and the best one for the consoles. Until GT shows us different, Forza 2 is the bar. Of course GT fanboys will say different, but really why take them seriously. They still think GT 4 is better than Forza 1.

I can't wait to start working on the customizations for the cars...hmmmmm.

It's damn funny watching all the Xbox fanboys back away from claiming that Forza 2 was going to look better than GT:HD. That claim was made here, and made often.

Me? I got the two features i wanted in the original Forza... 60fps framerate and true force-feedback steering, just like in Gran Turismo 4.

FYI ... I've already got the 360 wireless wheel, and Forza 2 is pre-ordered. I don't care about the review scores, this game is just what I want.

Forza 2 looks good and plays more realistic than any car game I played and the physics are great.

There won't be a better racer out this year for any platform and yes this game will get a AAA at least

Downloaded the demo this morning and yep, was really disappointed in the graphics.  They were not what I would call next gen graphics, there wasn't anything really pretty about it, the cars were shiny, sure, but there wasn't even a hint of realism with them, and as soon as I saw the environments with the 2D trees, poorly defined ground textures and lack of anything really interesting going on in them, I was just really underwhelmed.  Very very disappointing in the graphics.  I thought the PGR3 demo was much prettier.

I made a really sweet James Bond car on Forza1, had 007 in gold on the sides and a sniper rifle on the hood, all on a black Ferrari. It looked lovely, sadly I don't have the pics of it anymore but it was posted on the official site along with other peoples custom cars.

It's being able to do things like that which make me love this series, and it's going to be even better in Forza 2. Like you say, people seem to be missing the point with this game, it's MORE than just about pretty graphics, this is as deep a sim you will find on a console.

a system has to work twice as hard to display a game in 60FPS vs. 30FPS. Most games that end up being 60FPS are fighting games They were never packing graphical realism to begin with, there was a lot of system power left over, so 60FPS is what they end up being.

The demo looks absolutely stunning for a game running at 60FPS. If you're going to compare graphics, compare it to another game that runs at a constant 60FPS. If there is a better looking game running at 60FPS ever released on a console, I am unaware of it.

pgr3 was 30fps *and* 540p (upscaled of course). so of course with those shortcuts you can make the game look so much better. can you imagine what forza 2 would look like at 30fps and 540p?.

another thing to keep in mind here is that this demo only has a very very small fraction of the game. there are so many things missing:

career mode
siumlation damage
time trials
leaderboards
car customization/painting
photo mode
uploading photos
auctions
tournaments
online multiplayer
car gifting
forza tv
and all the features on the forza web site that are coming

etc...

now imagine with this small taste of a demo, how much deeper the game gets with all this other stuff added...if you still want to complain by all means carry on.

I know but the black ferrari just looked so dam cool I had to go with it, taking it online to boast was also nice :), I tried to do a Spiderman car but I just couldn't nail it, maybe in Forza 2.

I agree, Im happy with all the additions they made to Forza 1, more customization, more parts to add to your car, ect. To me the graphical improvements over Forza 1 are just a bonus.

Who cares it doesnt look photorealistic, i think the graphics are pretty well done, yes it could be better, but why change something that looks decent to begin with?

speaking of ferrari's in forza, there still seems to be a heavy bias for the characteristics. as in the first forza they are real easy to handle. you can easily recover from mistakes. ferraris are n00b cars in forza.

I played it already about 5 hours and im still playing it can't get enaugh it's so damn good.

It's the first console racing sim game that i really like and the first one i like even more then GTR2.

I love this kind of racing games because it's about perfection, it's awesome to drive on the limit and always trying to improve for just a little bit.

Well, thank you for proving your ignorance. Every Gran Turismo game is locked in at 60 fps... including Gran Turismo, HD... which runs at 1080p native resolution. I'm glad I could clear that up for you.

Why is everybody saying, doesn't look like that on my tv, did anybody say the same about GT HDno even if it also does not look like the off screens everybody is showing.

Anyway it does look like that on my lcd monitor only with a bit different colours. 

Man the AF in this game is horrible. I can see two lines where the textures start lose detail. :/

Anyway, I know PGR3 isn't even actual 720p and runs at 30fps but it looks much better than this to me. Car models still go to GTHD though, insane amount of detail.

Regardless, the game isn't my cup of tea. I should probably give it another attempt though.

those screens ere taken on a replay mode wich reduces FPS but increases AA, also replay ad some sort of depthof field, that's why they look much better than gameplay

Ok, i want to know one thing. What exactly is the difference between 30fps and 60fps ? Because some people say that it would look better if it ran in 30 fps..but isn't the point with 60fps to get less jaggies and overall better graphics ?

 Anyways, Forza 2 looks way better than GT :HD ! The cars are about the same, but the backgrounds and the tracks are so much better in Forza 2!
