OK Forza 2 looks better than PGR3, Forza car models are the best I seen.
Â
This topic is locked from further discussion.
There will be prettier race car games, but Forza is much more than just graphics. The racing and everything else is so good. so smooth too.
Well maybe next time you'll not believe the hype.;)
I never beleived the footage they have shown so far was gameplay.
Racing games have a habit of showing replay mode vids as "gameplay"
GT5 won't look like any of the footage they will show before the game is out either. Neither wil PGR4.
Not that it wil matter if the gameplay is good.
I think Forza 2 looks great (Â I didn't have too high expectations)Â but it's the gameplay that makes it fun.

I'm sorry. Please post gameplay screens that haven't been altered by the game's photo mode. No replays with photo mode.

Inform your self better before making stupid comments like this. Forza 2 demo has no photo mode smart ass, so you pretty much owned your self with this stupis comment.
Are you an ignorant fool? HE DID NOT SAY IT WAS FROM THE DEMO!! Go suck a lolly pop boy.
But it is from the demo you **** idiot, i know it because i have the demo and this track is in the demo so is the R2 class you **** moron, stupid ****
Â
Yeah pismo forza2 looks awesome for a simulation don't make and idiot of yourself an better shut up sky is right
And now I've played it. Welp, the graphics are underwhelming. Not bad at all- nice reflections, good effects and shine. MY 1080p TV shows quite a bit of jaggies, but the texturing on the cars looks great, and it runs smoothly. Overall the graphics are good, just not what everyone was expecting.
I think that the most disappointing thing is that I've yet to find a way to turn on simulation damage. There's some cosmetic damage (not too much, either), but performance doesn't seem to be impacted whatsoever.
Â
Still, I'm in it for the gameplay, not the graphics (not that I wouldn't have preferred better graphics), so I'm still eagerly awaiting May 29, presale voucher in hand.

Car don't look anywhere near that good on my 40" lcd. The jaggies really are awefull and all over the cars. They don't even have a flat roof, more like stairs.Â
Those screens are from the replay mode. They don't look like that during gameplay. The game looks average at best.

True but it does have a replay mode that does add extra visual enhancements that the gameplay visuals do NOT have

But the demo looks nothing like that. So posting those pictures was still pointless
Those pics are from...the demo. Where else do you think lemmings are taking pics from. Sorry if the game doesn't look like that on your set up but it does for some people.
It doesnt look that good on my setup and anyone elses that are truly honest.

Nah. I see the same minor jaggies. I'm telling you, the issue is with how close you are to the cars. when you're nearly about to bump into someone's bumper, look at the car in front of you and tell me if you see jaggies. you WON'T. I don't know what the issue is with the minor jaggies when you're a car length or so away from the competition, but you definitely see them then. But again, nowhere near as bad as PGR3's...and about as many as GT:HD has (on my HDTV).Â

Nope gameplay and replay have exactly the same graphics, the only difference is that the replay mode has motion blur.Â

lol..nice try buddy. The replay graphics are better than the gameplay visuals. I may be a lemming but I'm an honest one. I have the balls to call them as I see them. The graphics in Forza 2 are good but nothing like I and most lemmings were expecting. The developers did misrepresent the games visuals with all the amazing videos and screens that were released not long ago.

[QUOTE="the1stmoonfly"]Â Forza looks smoother Mass_Effect
How can you say that? GT:HD doesn't have any jaggies in sight, and Forza is full of 'em
no there isnt, and what there is could very well be removed in the final game anyway, but what I was axctually refering to was the framerate.Dont know what your on about here. The game looks exactly the same as the trailers did and a replay of a race is in-game footage, so its not a case of beleiving because it just is, right there in front of you. Any in game footage of the other racers will look just like the trailers (unless sony do the usual and only show proposed in game play running on a pc emulator like with killzone, something |I wander how is possible with sony saying the cell cant be competed with by normal pc cpu's but i'm used to sony contradictions).Well maybe next time you'll not believe the hype.;)

I do agree Forza 2 looks well though and its gameplay wont be matched with only GTR coming close, if what pc guys say is true, and that games graphics look more real than Forza's from what ive seen.
Anybody that say PGR3 looks better than Forza 2 is either:
Plain and simple, Forza'a 2 graphics are a step up from PGR 3. They are not as flashy and colorful as PGR 3, but they are sharper with less jaggies. Forza 2 enviorments are from real world tracks, and modeled after them, not flashy Las Vegas or New York tracks. I won't even mention the 60fps.
And the comparisions do GTHD Demo are too funny also. When GTHD's Demo can get 3D backgrounds and actual physics that aren't from last gen and more than one car on the track, then maybe, just maybe, Sony fakeboys can post here.
Overall, Forza's 2 graphics are very nice, not mind blowing, but very nice.Â
Sorry but PGR3 is so amazing looking i have trouble distinguishing it from real life. I can honestly say Forza 1 looks better than Forza 2, the horrrendous jaggies means all the quality is completel diluted. In other words, Forza 2 looks HORRIBLE, ill even spell that outAnybody that say PGR3 looks better than Forza 2 is either:
- Someone who doesn't play on a HDTV
- A Sony Fanboy jealous of Forza 2 and will do anything to bash this AAA title
- Doesn't own PGR3 or tried the Forza 2 Demo

They should have just kept the focus on the gameplay, which is what the original Forza did well.alfy13
They did focus on the gameplay :| and I'll take 60fps with crash damage. Sure it's not as good looking as PGR3 but it has it where it counts, in the gameplay department.
But for the graphically impressive game that it has to be the sequal of it is just not living up to the hype.Â
what hype? noone i've seen has hyped the graphics.. Forza has ALWAYS been about true simulation while the competition boasts pretty pictures...

Yeah right, Anyone remember this so called game lemmings will swaer is the only game that looks better than GT HD
yah i do. i remember everything tango loves to hype, but then come back and say he never has. btw i have alot of his threads bookmarked. well off to lunchif you have them bookmarked, please feel free to post ANY thread of mine where i hyped Forza's graphics...
i think Forza looks great and to compare it to a game that uses waaaaaaaay less cars on the tracks is insane...
so..post them...or admit you're a professional liar.... as cows are...;)

gt:hd has really poor backgrounds... 2D, kinda.... bleh...especially using a $600 ps3 to play it on...
i can see the bitterness of Forza unseating GT as the king of console sims has really hit you cows hard...:lol;

apologies for the spelling in the image! For reference, image taken from a Panasonic PV500 HDTV Plasma at 720p, by a Canon EOS 350D. Images dropped to 50% size in photoshop, then cropped to fit. Note, each drop in image size smooths over jaggies, it acts as an anti-aliasing filter as a side effect (try grabbing the above images out of the web browser and resize them to 25% on your monitor to see the effect, the jaggies magicly go away...) Also, jaggies are far far worse when moving at 60 fps, they tend to dance along the line, creating a very distracting effect.orangeonxbox
I've played the demo on both my 20" Widescreen monitor @ 1280x768 and my Samsund LCD HDTV @ 720p over component and have never seen jaggies like that in the demo, sure there were a few here and there, but not to the extremes in your pics and from what your post is saying.
You must have something seriously wrong with your setup, or mine is just exeptionally good. :?Â
well, I have seen some very very clever photos on this thread, kind of dodging the issue, so here is the other side of the story..orangeonxbox
Looks better then PGR3 imo.
The screen is way sharper, with better textures, nicer environments, way less jaggies, yep really go check again PGR3 after playing Forza 2 you will be schocked and 60fps is suddenly a must have, damn 30fps looks so lame now.
The audio in this game is awesome, everything from engine, tyre sounds, grass, sand, curbs, chrashes and even the music is great, much better as the crap in Forza 1.
and the most important it plays fantastic, awesome game im very satisfied.

I agree! I dont know what the hell everyone else is talkin about! The demo just made it official that I will be buying this game! The gameplay and graphics sealed the deal! I was expecting these terrible graphics everyone was talking about, but Im glad the game proved them all wrong! People play with fanboy goggles and bias half the time anyway! Its not the first time Sony sheeple, or Xbox haters said a good looking game looks bad.Â

[QUOTE="tango90101"]Thank you. Someone finally said it. You guys seem to forget that this is a demo, not a finished product. Granted the demo is out now (~3 weeks before the actual full release) but that doesn't mean this is a nearly finished build. Take the demo for what it is, a look into the gameplay, control, and overal feel to the game. I know that the difference in the graphics of the Crackdown demo compared to the retail version were much improved. Wait until you own and are playing the actual game before you decide if it was exactly what you expected or not.Its not going to look any better, get over it.if you remember, the original demo of forza didn't look as good as the finished game.
i wouldn't make a judgement from a demo....
i'll take realism over "foto-realizm" any day...
