[QUOTE="_Peoples_Champ_"] Flipping of cars, damage, customize the outside, tire deformation, drafting, and overall better physics is what Forza brings that are better than gran turismo. By cow knowledge killzone 2 has better graphics than HALO 3 so killzone wins! By cow knowledge gt5 will have better graphics than Forza Motorsports 3 so gran turismo wins!_Peoples_Champ_

The Killzone vs H3 thing is fact. The GT5 vs. FM3 i dunno but FM3 seem to be more technically impressive.

So killzone 2 is better than HALO 3 because it has better graphics???

Better graphics, engine, lighting and physics.

Wow 16 cars on track, damage, weather and day/night cycles? GT5 sure seems to have a lot over the competition. But seriously, this is a treat for us GT fans. The hardware has always been such a limiting factor they've never been able to do things like this.

Lighting no, and H3's physics are really good.

[QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"]Oh come on now don't be naive! How can having WRC and NASCAR NOT make the game better?! Zero_epyon

By the mere fact that trying to do too many things at once increases the possibility that most of them won't be of highest quality. Its better to do one thing extraordinarily well than to try and do many things decently. Not only that but it will increase the development time of the game exponentially... and we've already been waiting for nearly five years for a single real piece of gameplay footage.

You are the one being naive to just accept that somehow "more = better."

Quality >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Quantity

Ever thought it's taking so loong to produce GT5 is because they're creating 3 Spectacular things at once. They're basically creating 3 games. It's taken them about 5 years. It took that much time for forza to put out three games itself. Think about that.

Lmao, it will be no where near as indepth as games made for rally/nascar, doesn't EA have the lisense though.

FM3's physics seem to be more in-depth, car custimization is more in-depth, damage in only rally and nascar. Day and night/weather really doesn't matter lol. 16 cars, I could see make a gameplay diff though.

Keep trying Cows, keep trying

Guess this is what happens when the IMPOSSIBLE happens.

Forza pulled off a huge upset years ago and they are still the console racing champs. GT will have to pull out a near perfect game to beat Forza3 imo.

Im a huge fan of both series, and itll be great to play both games and see which one is better (although they both could be awesome and the same score).

Only time will tell which one is better, but GT is the challenger adn Forza is the Champ, The challenger has to TAKE THE BELT from the champ, lets see what happens.

Serisouly.. its looking like Forza does somethings better and GT does somethings better (Forza = better online, better custimization, better phyrics and more realistic gameplay... while GT = better graphics, rally mode and more levels). Am I the only racing fan who cant wait for both these games?

Well, in order to have a chance to take the belt from the champ, the challenger needs to at least get an official release date, and come out sometime before this gen ends!

You're right and the two released so far have out scored GT4 and GT5P and barely scored lower then GT3 ( .2 difference). What that shows me is that Turn10 is able to produce an incredible product with half the time PD takes to release yet again another trailer.

I still don't get what the big deal is. No one made a fuss when PGR4 had in car view, night races and weather conditions before GT and Forza. Just because Forza does not have these features GT is getting praised? Anyways i'm looking forward to FM3 and GT5. I'm just not sold on the damage etc... for GT5 as there is no mention at to what extent it will be.

PGR isn't a sim and it isn't in the same league as Forza and GT. If Forza didn't exist then GT's closest rival would be PGR.

Enough that they'd be willing to get a $400 PS3 just for this one game? Anyway, if EA has a lock on the NASCAR license, how could GT5's NASCAR mode even make an American release without stepping on EA's toes (and EA is one company that Sony actually has to respect).

HuusAsking

Hey it's possible that some people will buy a PS3 for Gran Turismo 5. NASCAR fans are quite loyal and if you can't play NASCAR on one system and it's your favorite sport then perhaps you won't be going with a 360. Furthermore, EA has a monopoly on the NASCAR license until the end of this year (from what I understand). My guess is that once 2010 rolls around NASCAR and EA will be parting ways on this agreement. One reason is because iracing.com will have an official NASCAR league, the other reason is because NASCAR will be in GT5. This is another reason why I doubt GT5 will be out this year. The monopoly started in 2004 or 2005.

I bought a original XBOX just for Forza1 and i know for a fact my dad and uncle will buy a PS3 for GT5. I definatly think you are right, that a good number of people could end up buy a ps3 (and 360) for GT5 and Forza3.

Meh, Playstation 1 had Formula 1 games that simulated weather and the old Need for Speed games on PS1 had pretty awesome night races too. GT gets praised because it's being compared to Forza, a game that won't have those features.

But is it accurately simulated weather? And do the lights in night races project true shadows? See, those are the problems Turn 10 would have to negotiate if they were to incorporate weather and night races into the game. Rain plays hobnob with their finely-tuned track physics, especially since tracks are affected unevenly by rain (which means a whole new round of track measurements, this time in the rain). As for night racing, car headlights and overhead track lights will cast shadows, and their physics model dictates that the lights cast proper shadows. That happens to be computationally demanding, and they're probably already working performance down to a razor's edge with little overhead.
