Forza 6 now has MicroTransactions

Microtransactions have been added to Forza Motorsport 6, despite earlier claims from Turn 10 stating that they would only be added to the game if players started "asking" for them.

As spotted by TeamVVV, 'Tokens' can now be used to purchase cars, upgrades and Mod Cards, with packs of Tokens ranging in price from 79p all the way to £64.99. One Token is said to be the equivalent of 500 in-game Credits, with a 100 Token pack available for 79p.

Here's the full list of denominations available:

  • 100 Tokens - 79p
  • 325 Tokens - £2.39
  • 575 Tokens - £3.99
  • 1,250 Tokens - £7.99
  • 2,700 Tokens - £15.99
  • 8,000 Tokens - £39.99
  • 20,000 Tokens - £64.99

I thought lems didn't like MTs, why were they asking for them? Or is Turn 10 spinning so BS here?

MT's seemed to also be what influenced this site's review of Forza 6. I wonder if other sites did as well?

The game was also commended in our review for its move away from microtransactions.

"One thing that is absolutely clear is Turn 10's move away from microtransactions," said our 8/10 review. "After the backlash against their inclusion in Forza 5, they are nowhere to be seen in 6. Even the new Mod Cards, used to give you perks during races, can only be bought using in-game credits."

Can't wait. OP is just jealous he has no games to play so he makes threads about games he wishes he can play.

Oh I'm saving this. And really? Me dying to play Forza 6 just to pay them even more in MT's?

Are you stupid or something? You do realize that you can you know...JUST PLAY THE GAME for the in-game credits. Nobody is forcing your lazy ass to pay for them.

Games are designed micro-transactions, with micro-transaction intensity increasing in attempts to both consciously and subconsciously make the consumer feel inept, both lacking the full experience and lacking advantage.

The argument of "it's optional" are A-typical apologist lines with a lack of foresight beyond the 6 inches in front of them.

Of course. But you assume I wanted to play Forza in the first place. This is an incorrect assumption. I never liked Forza and haven't play a racing game since GT5 launched. Why would I want to play it now that it has MT's?

As someone who regularly uses Twitter, I was actually surprised seeing people on a few occasions replying to the Forza tweets and actually asking for the Tokens to be put back in....yup, it looks like some people want those for convenience. For me, it makes no difference, at no point did I feel Forza 6 was designed with that in mind, in fact I would say it is too easy to earn free cars and credits in the game, I have over 20 free cars I did not even have the time to use yet.

A bit sneaky, i wonder if other devs will pick up on this to dodge the flak MTs bring in reviews.

Forza's sales dive bombed pretty quick so they'll probably need the cash.

not really seeing how you equate this to lems love microtransactions? Its more like publishers love them. If you are trying to say they added them because they said they would only do it if the fans asked for it, that laughable and grasping to the extreme. Game companies are businesses everything the do is to make money.

Anyway, I play Forza 6, have unlocked at least 50 cars for free with the in game money you win from playing and the free unlocks from leveling up. They arent making you buy them, I dont really see the issue.

Another mountain of a molehill oh noez the sky is falling thread.

Add this onto the dung heap with the RotTR looks better on 360 thread.

You guys have really been reaching for material lately, its cringeworthy to read these.

First Halo 5 flopping

Then the low sales

Then low sales of Tomb Raider

Now this on a game lems didn't want to HYPE. I think they were smart not doing it now.

Lems can't catch a break. :(

I never bought a single token for cars in FM5, sure as hell won't need to do it in FM6, and I own one or more of every single car in FM5 with forty-some million CR to spare, all legit (no exploits.) If anybody got nickle-and-dimed, Turn 10 didn't do it to them; they did it to themselves.

yeah you got some specific facts to verify thats true? I never asked for them, dont know many people that did either.

Thats about as much proof as saying McDonalds sells McRibs because everyone asks for them.

But whatever, still not seeing the issue its not required to play. But spin away cow, thats the mantra around here

I'm just giving you the evidence of why they've now implemented microtransactions, lems asked for them. Won't the game dev know more about what's going on with their game more than you? Do you work for Turn 10?

So for now, the horse's mouth > your asshole.

Damage control away lem, thats the mantra around here

It's their existence that is offensive. Hiding them from sight only slightly alleviates the problem.

Lems all over the world, not just SW. There's no reaching for anything here. They removed it from the game because of the backlash, but put it back in because fans asked for it. Either that's true or they're making it up so that they can bring it back in.

I hate this shit. The Crew is fucking filled with microtransactions too, and I refuse to buy them. Even though I really like some of the cars.

Now it's Forza. The cancer is spreading fast...

Forza 4 had them. And you could just play the game normally and not use them.

And the series has had map/car packs since Forza 2.

Literally ancient news here.

I'm seeing a trend when someone create a topic criticizing a game or system, the defender of that game or system will go "ah you're just jealous 'cause you can't play it".

It's getting boring here.

If it altered the structure of the game and made progression somehow more difficult I could understand the outrage and a thread bashing it, but the simple addition of this for fast tracking? Who gives a shit.

I think it's pretty easy to figure out that this was planned all along and the micro transactions were just left out at launch to improve review scores and launch window sales.

LMAO look at cows jumping on to this thread! Ah I see, GT6 is such a huge grind that you've abandoned it. anyway, when you have rewards, who needs these useless microtransactions?

When should I redeem my Reward?

There is no reason to wait to redeem your Reward. When you redeem your Reward you get to keep all your Forza Score points that you have earned. This means you can use your Forza Score points again the following month to redeem another Reward. If you go up a Tier during the month, you can redeem again the same month to get the extra rewards that new Tier brings.

In Forza Horizon why don't the all the miles I have driven count towards my Forza Score?

Only the distance driven during races count for Forza Rewards. You can check your Distance Driven in Forza Horizon from the Records page of My Profile -> Stats, but this is the combined total of distance driven during races and distance driven around the map. If Distance Driven is shown as kilometres instead of miles, you can change the Units setting to English from My Profile -> Options -> HUD.

In Forza Horizon what counts as a Perfect Pass?

A Perfect Pass is an Ultimate Pass Skill in Forza Horizon. You can check the number of Ultimate Pass Skills you have in Forza Horizon from the Skills page of My Profile -> Stats.

Once I have redeemed my Rewards, how long do I have to claim them?

In Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Horizon you have one month to read gift messages to get your reward. In Forza Motorsport 5 and Forza Horizon 2, gift messages remain in your Message Center until you have read them.

Why haven't I received my rewards in Forza Horizon 2 or Forza Horizon 2: Fast & Furious on the Xbox 360?

Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One versions of Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Horizon 2: Fast & Furious. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars. In addition, progress in the 360 version does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards.

How can I check the numbers of cars I own?

You can check the number of cars you own by going to FRIENDS COMPARE from the REWARDS menu. Select the game you want to check, click on CARS OWNED then click on DETAILS. To get to the pages for Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Motorsport 3, click and hold on Forza Horizon and press TAB.

What Forza Score do I need for each of the Forza Tiers? (revised August 2015)

Tier 1 = 0 pts

Tier 2 = 100 pts

Tier 3 = 500 pts

Tier 4 = 1,000 pts

Tier 5 = 2,500 pts

Tier 6 = 5,000 pts

Tier 7 = 7,500 pts

Tier 8 = 10,000 pts

Tier 9 = 12,500 pts

What Forza Score is available from each game?

There is a maximum of 15,000 available points available as follows:

Forza Motorsport 2 = 500 pts

Forza Motorsport 3 = 1,000 pts

Forza Motorsport 4 = 2,000 pts

Forza Horizon = 2,000 pts

Forza Motorsport 5 = 3,000 pts

Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox One) = 3,000 pts

Forza Horizon 2: Fast & Furious (Xbox One) = 500 pts

Forza Motorsport 6 = 3,000 pts

What were the previous rewards?

Note: Rewards are cumulative, for example Tier 4 get the Tier 2 and Tier 3 rewards as well.

Forza Horizon 2 Rewards

These one-time rewards are determined by the Tier you are the first time you start FH2.

Tier 2: 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

Tier 3: 2013 Viper GTS

Tier 4: 2015 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4

Tier 5: 2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter

Tier 6: 2013 McLaren P1

Forza Motorsport 6 Loyalty Rewards

The rewards are determined by your Tier and the number of cars you own the first time you start FM6.

Tier 2: 2015 BMW M235i

Tier 3: 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition

Tier 4: 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe

Tier 5: 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

Tier 6: 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Tier 7: 2014 Ferrari #62 Risi Competizione 458 Italia GTLM

This is nothing new. It's more whatever than anything else at this point. If people wanna be dumb enough to spend more money to play less of their game, let them do so.

I've played enough Forza to say I never got bothered about the microtransactions.

The Cow insecurity, BH and DC'ing has been off the charts the later half of this year with FM6 then Halo 5 arrived with all it's fanfare with revenues of 400 million in 4 days, along comes AAAE RotTR and if that weren't enough X1 gets a massive update with a spanking new OS Win 10, wins Oct. NPD and to top it all off, BC, just wow, tough, tough year for the cows, I can understand their frustration having only The Bore. Ya need to get yourself an X1 and join the fun. :P

Unless content is behind a paywall, I don't see what the big deal is.

Alas, people like to bitch about MTs even though they can completely avoid them.

These one-time rewards are determined by the Tier you are the first time you start FH2.

Sad day indeed. Thanks for post showing not only MS's core corporate greed, but how it is effecting developers.

But this has been in every Forza game. You don't have to buy them, they just help you to buy stuff without saving.

I don't understand TC.

lol 10m bought GT5 and they turn the servers off to force them to buy GT6. Funny, cows try to point out MSs corporate greed with non compulsory micro transactions, which every Forza has. At least the grinding is actually fun in Forza. I heard it's just boring in GT when you want to earn stuff.

The issue is that Turn 10 said they wouldn't be in the game because players protested them in Forza 5. Now they're saying that they were going to add them back if fans demanded it. I can't imagine many people asking for MT's when, from what I've heard in this thread alone, the game makes it very easy to unlock everything.

It's F2P garbage stuck into a game that costs $60 and people who have already paid for the game are rightly upset.
