Forza Horizon 2 prime example how online worlds should work

Yesterday I played it a bit and bumped into @sts106mat and he invited me to a game session, it took like a couple of seconds without ever taking away us from the game and voila we were already racing. When we were finished it also took just a second to leave the lobby without even any kind of loading or relocating you. Also, seeing someone else's (your friends') drivatar while you're freeroaming makes you smile. Playground has done a remarkable job with populating the world with believable density and drivers' behaviour. Now head-to-head races with drivatars have never felt so much personalized before.

Let's not forget seeing existing lobbies in world map and car meets.

Bro, lets just get Driveclub working at this point. Then we can compare.

FH2 is the greatest racing game I've ever played. I've never played a racing game so much in my life, there is tonnes to do in the game. The multiplayer is so much fun and very seamless as well, a great game.

I've played the demo so much fun.

@Chutebox First we played "King" which is a tag game for cars but the kicker is you're in a confined area, I won that and then we had a Sprint race which is a semi-circuit semi-open race with checkpoints. He won that. My Ferrari overspinned at one occasion and that was it and while he had a screw up too I managed to catch up but then I screwed up again. So all in all we were even.

Thanks for sharing. I am getting this game, just after the holiday push and when I add a external hard drive. The more I hear about this game the more I am convinced that it is truly something special.

Truly is an amazing game. Probably my favorite racer in years. Shame it only received an 8 here

Yes, I do like the instant online meets. Those are pretty fun. It's cool that you can run up behind your friends Drivatar and instantly race against them in RT no matter what car you are in. You can also race again top players for big CR bonues. I don't know if anyone has checked out the stats in this game, but it's friggin insane. I couldn't believe how much information is stored concerning your driving. It's like overkill in stats.

Horizon 2 doesn't look anything like a 360 game. You obviously haven't played it. DriveClub is pure garbage. Broken online support, low car count, poor jaggy textures, pop_in from distance, poor A.I. when racing, no weather support, no car upgrades or tuning, no American or Asian cars and the list goes on. I think scottpsfan was being sarcastic. lol!!

It's definitely a fun game online, was pleasantly surprised at how good it is! Nothing like racing my Border Patrol-themed RAM and having people yell "YEEEEHAW" though my TV speakers.

Im not a big racing game fan but I loved the first Horizon and can't wait to try the new one.

My cousin is playing it on my Xbox One right now, game is incredible.

The thing I like most is the setting, so much more interesting than playing on the same old racing circuits again and again and better than the usual generic American city/countryside most open world racers have.

@Salt_The_Fries: Agreed 100%. Forza gets open world dead right. I love it and it is my favorite racing game experience since the early PGR games.

I played a few games online, and I didnt find anything special with the online. Its nothing that hasn't been done before. I was annoyed at how little time I had to choose a car, I mean I have a wide collection of cars, and got only a few seconds to pick a car... Then you are stuck with that car for about 4 events, till the next set of races.

Sounds like burnout paradise, which is probably the greatest open racing game ever, along with Midnight Club. I'm waiting until black friday to get it.

Will they add bikes or does it already have? Didn't burnout and PGR add them? Been so long since I played them.

PGR4 had them and I believe Paradise added them in an update too.

Forza Horizon 1 was already a great game. Forza is the best racing franchise out there without a doubt

Couldn't agree more. The mixture of offline & online play doesn't feel obstructive like other games (ie. Destiny!!).

It's so blatantly obvious that Gamsspot whored the FH2 review a tad because they wanted to keep system wars calm and not make FH2 score so much higher then Failclubs 8 is still a good score but the game could easily of received an 8.5-9.0 but it's guaranteed GS wanted to try a little to keep this close between the two racers but once FailClub dropped GS was like wow really after a delay Sony still delivers such trash like this? PS is clearly not the system for good racer hasent been for many years. GT has been fail for years getting owned by Forza and with both GT5 and GT6 with garbage PS2 cars and no cockpit half baked garbage and PD already said GT7 will have it also so PS fans will still be waiting and waiting and waiting for greatness nothing new.

You can do better than this, Crackace. You're gonna have to do better than that if you want to catch up with B4X who is now king of the meltdowns.

Better than pushing Driveclub a game that flopped and doesn't even work properly, at least FH2 actually works.

Not to mention it has more cars, customisation, photo mode ,etc, etc....

Last I checked the single player works fine, and most of the online niggles are ironed out.

Kinda sad that one of the marquee games for the Xbone this year is a cross-gen expansion pack. Ah well. Maybe next year you'll get games.
