Looks like MSFS just got dethrone as king of graphics and FH5 really blows it out of the water. 4K is good & all but I prefer to play it in 1440p for good reason.
Looks stunning, I cannot wait. Forza Horizon is the only racing game left that I genuinely enjoy playing. Horizon 4 was as close to a flawless open world racing game I have ever played.
I don't get the point of these Horizon games. Its just an open map for you to b line through the whole thing. Where is the fun in just brainlessly driving in an empty world?
@pelvist: Not into racing games either,in fact not at all!! But Forza Horizon series is Classic. I Hate any type of racing,not even a fan of the Grand Theft Auto games because of a lot of the game has to somehow involve cars in a bunch of the missions,but FH games are freaking awesome. Don’t like FMS games either,only FH games.

I don't get it either, I tried getting into 5 but was just driving around, went back to 7. I'll give this new one a shot.
@hardwenzen: There are circuit races you can play in all over the map. Different parts of the world may have street racing, drag, off-road, whatever. Then when you unlock a new car, you can futz around the world getting the hang of the handling. Plus, there is exploration, finding new cars and stunts, or just drive to the top of a mountain to careen down the thing. Think of it as an open world rpg, only battles are races.
Check out the demo of FH4 on Steam. It quickly showcases a lot of what the games have to offer. Though it does spend a little too much time telling you how eXtreemz it all is, that stuff tones down a lot after you get through the opening segment.

I just want my standard track racing. I enjoyed the open world in a game like Burnout Paradice (a more arcadey title), but i am just not feeling it in Forza. When i get a gpu, the next time i get GP, i will download the latest Horizon title to see what's up, but having already played games like it, i just don't enjoy aimlessly driving around for more than two hours.

Horizon is a racing game….you race against AI or MP opponents. There’s lap times, best times, positions and points awarded depending on how you finish in the race….

All of this is filler. Races are done on a track, not just a line highlighted on your map, and you get to the finish line driving however you want. Horizon is more of a drive brainlessly in an open world map with a certain theme to it with every new entry. Poor racing game experience.
@hardwenzen: Yes, racing is “filler” in a racing game. Maybe you missed it but there are tracks on FH, which is why I spoke about lap times. Racing along the line you describe is a different type of challenge….I prefer full mp opponents racing on tracks which are done in the cities….
I mean, if you want to hate something just for the sake of it…then by all means go ahead but “brainlessly driving in an empty world” was a kinda laughable assessment.
