I think that's why it's best just to know your role and shut your hole when the grownups are talking about the undisputed King of Racers.  The next time you see that Lancer Evo line up at a stop light or watch Swordfish where a character is rocking a TVR..  Just remember, Gran Turismo did that.

Has not had a AAA in the last 12 years on metacritic and only 1 AAA on here. Just be happy about the game but lets be real GT is no marvel. Since the first Forza has released GT has not scored one AAA.

Racer King? Hmm, too close in my eyes, I can't say I prefer Forza over GT or GT over Forza, they both do some things better than others.

Doesn't need to be "cool", just a better game which Forza clearly is.

There's nothing cool at all about Gran Turismo. As far as racing games are concerned, it's about as sterile as it gets. ShoulderOfOrion

lol the last time cows did the GT vs Forza thing (GT5 vs Forza 3), it didn't end well for them.

Forza is absolutely a better racer and a better game than GT. Only a cow would argue otherwise.

I guess is cooler than anything Turn 10 can produce too, since they didn't even make Horizon. Horizon is a totally different game anyway, you may as well be comparing that to Test Drive: Unlimited

Personally, I prefer Forza over GT simply due to a lack of license tests. I always found those to be tedious rather than fun.Xaero_Gravity

I think that's the reason they became optional in GT5, you don't need licences to race in any event.

I will never comprehend Cow's fascination with prematurely blowing their load (and then facing subsequent dissapointment afterwords), over every peice of news reguarding Sony, ever.

Just like the last game, you will be nowhere to be found when it flops.

GT's glory days are in the past. Since Forza debut, it showed how a sim racer should be done. And the comparative scores, release to release and gen to gen show this.

Did you not say anything to that effect? Then my apologies sir, but there are many people on this forum that do say that (and vice versa) and I do not understand the logic at all

The GT series is great, though the last one disappointed me a bit, since they could have done more in those 6 years to develop it. But it was still a great game, and the GT series has the best driving physics.

What Polyphony should do now, is add more content to the series, make that track editor better, and maybe they should make easier driving physics as an option aswell, like the one in Forza 4. Forza 4 is not as realistic as GT5, but it's alot easier and fun to drive with a controller.

Horizon is really not even that good. I've seen a few lems hype it up, but it's really not the best open world racer of the gen. Not even close. Burnout Paradise was clearly better and more fun (and FAR more full of content). Midnight Club was also better. Those were the only two open world racers I recall playing this gen and they were BOTH better.  

Horizon did have an extensive car selection for an open world game, but the track design within this open world, and the "season" layout were absolutely abysmal. The online was also incredibly sparse. Almost nothing to do, the "challenges" were really lame compared to the ones in Burnout. 

That being said, the game was definitely fun for 20 hours or so and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a Sony studio take a crack at making an open world racing game. But I would want them to take a much different approach than Horizon.

I would say it was pretty good, maybe not quite as good as Paradise, but better than Midnight CLub. I would say though the DLC was far far overpriced, put me off the DLC entirely, which is a shame because it looks like they released some nice cars as DLC.

I miss the Sega GT racers. Perfect balance arcade and simulation. I have always been more of a GT fan when it comes to sims though I'm not a huge fan of sims.
