Not sure if this has been posted already, and if it has, sorry.
An interview with one of Free Radical's co-founders.

"The only thing we've ever released on the PC was the port of Second Sight... but at the moment there's a fair amount of convergence of technology. From our point of view, going forward, PC is certainly a platform we'll be catering for."

"The broader point is that our engine technology is PC-compatible. In fact, our engine technology is built on PC, which wasn't generally the case before. With the Timesplitters games and Second Sight we were mostly developing on PS2 hardware, and then porting to Xbox and Gamecube.

This time, building new engine tech, we're building on PC in advance of console hardware being available. But it was an easy choice, as we knew the consoles would be moving towards more multi-threaded, multi-core stuff and most next-gen engines broadly have the same rendering feature set. At the moment, the PC performance is doing what it generally tends to do across the lifetime of a console.

When a new one comes out, they deliver something pretty close to a top-end PC, but over the 5-6 years the PC pulls away again. The other thing is, the base resources for all consoles and PC right now is quite similar, and the stuff you'll see at the higher end PC is just people turning on a lot of the scalability options - fancier rendering, shadow patterns, stuff like that."

Nice, I just hope the PC gets Haze because Haze looks like an amazing game. People don't give it enough respect because the ideas and gameplay behind it are amazing. Yet, I don't really want to buy a PS3 because I've never been a MGS fan, never really liked FF and am not interested in Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank. Haze is the type of game I could really enjoy though, assuming they pull off everything right.

Since these guys left rare back mid 1998 (yes they left well before microsoft bought rare unlike what everyone believes) they haven't really had a stellar record, hopefully they can do alot more if they venture into the pc market with shooters then they can on consoles, i'm not admitting that golden eye and PD weren't great games from the leads behind free radical design but timesplitters doesn't exactly have a halo (forgive the pun) hanging over its head like golden eye and PD do.

They are not the only console game developers starting to bring their games to PC, many companies are starting to put out their games on PC and are starting to concentrate a bit more on PC games. And people say PC gaming is dying.......

Its funny how after the generation of consoles launch, and hype dies down, propsition of developing for PC grows, as the technology far exeedes the console counterparts - let alone the consoles weakness become more jarring over benifits.

...Timesplitters anyone? And for the record, every FPS has a Halo hanging over its head, cause that's the standard in the genre. Check GS reviews and GR overalls, Timesplitters is a damn great FPS franchise.

Jeeze back when Haze was first announced these guys were proclaiming their love and undying devotion for the PS3. Now they want to mac out on the PC? I wonder if this will be a continuing trend. Maybe by February they will "really want to explore the Wii's potential".

Yeah, but it hasn't got nearly as much hype. That's why people don't know about it despite being a great franchise.
