What is he implying? That Nintendo is kiddie?!? How dare him!!!

The heck?
Why?
Freakin' Miiverse is essentially their Orange Stone Mechanic from Dark Souls, and they're saying it's not for the Nintendo Audience?
Is this because of ZombiU's sales?
well he is right. kids get scared of blood also its a very violent game, u dont want to be showing 5 year olds that level of violence
Of course, even the developers know, only in some forums like this you´ll see some people trying so hard to make it look like the target audience of nintendo isn´t children and very young teens, with a touch of senior citizens with the Wii.
That was,is and always will be the target audience nintendo chases after.

Kids and hardcore gamers buy Nintendo products.

if this was true Nintendo wouldn't be publishing and funding bayonetta II
Demon Souls had shit design. It runs terrible and it looked terrible. The fact it barely ran on a Playstation 3 means they can't optimize worth shit. The Nintendo audience are use to better.
He isn't wrong. I couldn't see the game selling well at all on the Wii U, people just whine at not having it on the Wii U for the sake of it then they go and buy it for another platform anyway.

If I were actually interested in the game, and there were a Wii U version, I would be interested in having the inventory on my controller, given that you can't pause the game.
By the time the title reaches the target demographic on Wii U, it has had to get by all other systems - PC, Xbox, Playstation - because the audience who would get Dark Souls 2 for a Nintendo system have likely already purchased it elsewhere (hence why Nintendo needs to get it together and build a far better ecosystem, because they're getting slaughtered). That's the case for me; the group that owns Nintendo-only consoles and would buy Dark Souls 2 is not sizable enough to warrant the additional cost.
Nintendo publishing Bayonetta 2 is their attempt to show they do have a mature core side
Also add: Perfect Dark (when they had Rare), and Eternal Darkness (when they had Silicon Knights), and Geist.
Sad part is, only one of those games actually sold well.
Nintendo's audience is used to play as a red plumber that jumps on mushrooms, not backstabbing and absorbing creature souls in the underworld.
Considering the average gamer is 30 years old, and have been gaming for 13 years, I doubt they aren't in some way associated with a Nintendo platform and would be considered part of the Nintendo audience. They are really perpetrating the stereotype that Nintendo is "kiddie only" and we, who have functioning brains, know this isn't at all true. They make games for all audiences to enjoy and are publishing a sexually-suggestive, hyper-violent M-rated game.
Nintendo are aimed for kids or more accurately, for your childhood days...And casuals of course but that was a one hit wonder when they did.
lol. Bayonetta... that J-pop cheesy dance fest, good for those who like anime what not.
The next Zelda will try to be more like Dark Souls no doubt.
Dark Souls is not made for the toddler Nintendo fanbase that still watches barney and rides in a booster seat.

You should embrace your childhood, not be afraid of it. Innocent joy is the best fun one can have when playing a game.

Why would Nintendo want the next Zelda to be the worst in the series?

Nintendo wants Zelda to actually be popular. That's why its not going to resemble dark souls and thank God for that.
I don't think the game would do well on Wii U in any event.
3DS is a different story, but obviously that can't work. There are enough successful challenging games on 3DS to make me believe that a game with Dark Souls' difficulty and depth can thrive there, ignoring the technical limitations.

Pretty much this.

Good joke considering the design is fantastic and I have been playing it on PS3 recently and have had very few frame drops (no more than any other console game)
It would be pointless on Wii U IMO just because it would not sell units. Has the Wii U even been selling to children though if it was wouldnt it have much more sales, especially Mario.

The kids are playing COD. Nintendo's target audience is people like me. Adults in their 30's or even 40's who grew up on Nintendo.

Too bad Nintendo are trying to be like Skyrim and Dark Souls but the kid friendly version.
They've already said the 'Next Zelda will be influenced by Skyrim'. So Nintendo can acknowledge a good game other than their own.
Wii U owners would certainly buy it, just not for the Wii U, surely many have Xboxs and PlayStations.

Lol, I've heard the director of Zelda say he likes Skyrim but there has been no insinuation that the next Zelda is gonna be like it other than your imagination. And like Dark Souls? lol, if they wanna sell 10 copies maybe. (hint, they want to sell more than 10 copies)
Judging by the sales figures its not suitable for the Xbox or PC audience either. Should prob just make the series exclusive again.

Well said. That is how I personally rate a game I play. Did I enjoy it? I don't need to break it down to level design or graphics, pretend I can write better, or other things. Did I enjoy the game? Will I play it again?
