Uh, your anecdotal evidence is slightly flawed there.
You cannot generalize an entire userbase like that, and if anything, casuals would be more inclined to buy a Wii for two very important reasons. 1) The media coverage of the Wii and all its revolutions in gaming, and 2) The price. Believe it or not, most casual gamers would rather spend $250 as opposed to $400 for something that is little more than a toy to them.
But like I said, you will have a mix of both casual and hardcore in every userbase.Â
so far all the casual gamers i know have gotten a 360 while some of the more mid-hardcore gamers have gotten a wii alongside it. While only my cousin bought a ps3 and later sold it for a 360 and wii. My other cousin was never able to sell his ps3 and still enjoys it all the same good thing they are brothers and can enjoy all 3 systems. mercenar3
Again, this is anecdotal evidence. I myself own a Wii and 360. I play 360 daily, and I have played the Wii three or so times in two months.
Does that prove anything? No, because I am just one person with my own little statistically insignificant story.
While the hardcore gamers buy a Wii. This is just what I see as a whole in real life. I do not know one person who owns a 360 that plays it daily, they only picked it up for the graphical power. But everybody I know who owns a Wii has been gaming since the 90s and plays video games daily. Funny how that works, eh?O_Rly_FTW
It's actually the complete opposite of literally everything you just said where I live... :?
