He really shouldnt be talking since the game's storyline is already being used over and over again...

I think he's referring to the gameplay. I read this article a while ago. I agree with him, the gameplay isn't next gen much hasn't changed. I wish a lot MORE critics would've realized this. A couple of game critics scored Halo 3 in the 8.0 range and Halo 3 deserved it rightfully so. Problem is, for us a gamers at least, developers know they don't have to change that much about the gameplay...the games will still sell.
isnt same fished an CIA agent? lol.....wow, some developers do not know the meaning of halo 3....little has changed from halo 2? ummm...i played halo 2 to death...and halo 3 ,feels compltely different.....Dante2710Nah, he's right Halo 3 isn't much an upgrade from Halo 2. I'm not bashing the game, Halo 3 is fun, but it's more "refined" than Halo 2. Nothing substantially different that feels too evolved. But does it need to be? Sometimes it just works....

ANytime a dev gets arrogant about his work. Unless its Miyamoto or Itagaki. His game becomes very disapointing and leaves everyone saying WTF?
It happend to Fable.
Happened to Killzone for all the hype it got.
It will happen to Haze. for all the smack talk they did against Halo.
IT will happen to this guy his game will only get a 7.
Seriousaly if his game gets more than A. I will go put 100 bucks on the raiders winning the superbowl this year.

sorry to break it to u but Halo3 is very similar to Halo2, but its not like thats a bad thing. And going on a tangent, anyone else notice how the bubble grenade is basically a cheap version of Resistance's backlash grenade?
not even true, shows how little people appreicate this....there is custom games, where u can make this game 300% faster, less gravity, and alot more other options that im not willing to mention, you can completly change the way its played......Changing options for a multiplayer mode is nothing revolutionary... :| It's been done before. Yes, you can do that, and it is a nice feature, but nothing revolutionary or new altogether. I've played around with it and Forge making new game types and maps. Point of the fact is, the gameplay still is the same though. Game modes feel the same, and nothing took it further or beyond in the way the gunplay runs or moves.

Twilight Princess wasn't much different than OOT, MP 3 isn't much different than MP 1 or 2, doesn't mean they aren't great games.

BUT BIOSHOCK, IS BETTER THAN HALO.
HERES THE THING, EVEN DEVS NO THAT HALO IS A WHACK GAME. THEY SEE MS PORMOTING IT LIKE ITS THE END OF THE WORLD., they no there games are better than halo and they no ms bribes reviewers, no think to your self, do you think some one who is getting paid by ms, would be saying things like this........get ready to see bioshock on the ps3 next year, with new features.
bioshock is acclaimed for doing things diffrent, new formula, while halo has relied on the same opne since halo1, shame
Bioshock= new Ip
Halo 3= sequel....can u tell the difference...I'm sick of fanboys saying halo 3 is the same formula. It's a sequel!! It's not supposed to be radically different all of a sudden. i expected the same cuz it's a freaking sequel!!!!
And Ken levine ( who works with TAke 2 boston/austrialia, formerly irrational )already stated thatbioshock wont be ported to teh ps3...stop dreaming.

That's not the point. Nobody is disputing that these games are great.
The question is whether they provide something 'next-gen' beyond graphics, building a gameplay experience that cannot be replicated on older hardware. Halo 3 plays really well, and is very refined, and has tons of features, but the basic gameplay is the same kind of thing we saw in earlier games on last gen consoles.
I just hope this developer isn't talking big without a game that actually backs up that talk.
Let's see him release a high quality AAA game that sells 1 million plus units before he starts talking bull**** about Halo 3 and Bioshock.jethrovegasWhat he said about Bioshock is technically true though as far as the gameplay is concerned. Its just System Shock 2 at the core.

No it isn't. I have played System Shock 2 excessively, and comparing the gameplay of the two is ridiculous.
SS2's gameplay is slow-paced, thoughtful, and features deep customization mechanics, whilst Bioshock is frantic, intense, and relys largely upon environmental interaction to kill enemies in a number of creative ways.
People seriously need to stop comparing these games; their core mechanics (especially in combat) are radically different.
Their relationship is solely superficial and spiritual.

Plasmids are just a twist-tie of cyber modules. Almost all of the original core gameplay ideas came from System Shock 2. I wouldn't say its EXACTLY like System SHock 2, but for the most part almost all of the core gameplay is still intact. PDAs, Cyber Modules, hacking, etc.

I'm sorry, I simply cannot agree with you, SS2 fan that I am.
Do you have any idea how many games have featured PDAs? And hacking? And some form of currency with which to purchase character upgrades?
No, sorry, the core mechanic of the FPS is always the combat, and in that mechanic, Bioshock and SS2 are totally different games.

There's like no game out there that feels next-gen. Please if you're going to deduct Halo 3 for that then you should for every game.
