• Best launch for a Playstation exclusive, 7th highest launch on a Playstation platform
• Outsold the opening month for every Spider-Man title combined since NPD started tracking in '95
• Third best selling game of the year so far

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, unlike it's predecessor, actually charted in the top ten this time. Mainly due to being multiplat (though word has it that sales are softer than expected). Now, the game charts. By dollar value

I actually did not think SpiderMan would be doing this well. I guess Spidey is just that popular and definitely a system seller now. Massive congratulations to Insomniac. That hardware divide is insane to me, especially the fact that xboxone hardware sales are actually up. Good news all around but ps4 is insane.

I can see why Marvel (the most successful creators of comic book films right now) approached Sony for an exclusive project. Sony knows what they're doing. And Insomniac's CEO praised Sony for having the best pipeline and support for big AAA single-player games. Sony's track record shows it, and that's why Insomniac went to them.

I was going to get Mario Party for the family but it's joycon motion controls only. That's an auto pass for me.

The cut-off date was Oct 6th, which means Forza Horizon 4 has only a week of sales on this chart, so who knows how high it could have climbed, I would have bet 3rd if 3 weeks worth of sales were added. But yeah, the detailed report basically said greatest Forza ever, but also biggest launch for any racing game ever on all Xbox platforms.

Amazing, this is spidey debut month too. Cannot wait for next month, will be seeing a huge drop or will Spidey sustain top 5.

Its a success in my opinion if it can outsold every other exclusive in October and in Top 5. CoD and RDR2 will battle it out for top spot no doubt

@henrythefifth: Because sports teams change every year. It looks like the game is the same but having the correct players on the correct team is extremely important. To many, sports is a matter of pride and worth giving up everything for not just for the players but also for the spectators. Playing last year’s sports version, even if it’s a better game overall, makes you a fan of the game but not an actual fan of the competitive sport.

Until these numbers are reported... no reason to get upset or over hype if you favorite game is or is not on this list where you expected.

That is because on switch there is a hell less to play vs the PS4 which has a ton of great games there are even multiplatform games that aren't even on switch. But nice DC.

Look at amazon top 20 best selling items,6 of them are PSN money cards only 1 xbox live money card,i think it is obvious were most people is also buying more digital games.

Ah so what you're saying is that we need digital sales for EVERY title on EVERY platform. That's probably not going to be a thing for some time. However, we can still consider the ones that are accounted for and compare those. For example, Spiderman vs Tomb Raider. Spiderman on one console outsold Tomb Raider on three and that's with PC digital sales included. Or that despite only have only one week, FH4 managed to sell two ranks below Tomb Raider on two platforms.

Let's work with what we got for now.

The Switch hasn't been out for 2 years yet, of course a console that's nearly 5 years old will have more games.

I can't blame people for being so mesmerised by Mario Party as to buy it in droves. Getting a game that huge onto a tiny console like the switch is a "little miracle". LOL.

But that wasn't my point,my point is that gamers tend to let go games faster on PS4 because there is always something new to play,that is not the case so much with the switch, it is obvious that the PS4 would have way more games it has way more time on the market.

I’ve always enjoyed the Mario Party games myself. Wouldn’t mind getting this new one for the Switch as well, looks very good.
