Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • focused more on colourful games (among other things)

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • focused more on gritty games(among other things)

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • catered to Japanese gamers with two games (Phantom Dust remake and Scalebound)

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • if I'm not mistaken they didn't cater to the Japanese audience at all (and Japanese exclusive "Let it Die" by Suda 51 looks totally aimed at the West

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • showed that it still cares about its old franchises (Phantom Dust reimagined)

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • only seemed to care about their recent franchises (TLOU rerelease)

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • Only talked games

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • Also talked about boring, and stupid non-gaming related content

I don't think it's such a big leap to agree with those points...What do you think? Isn't it ironic?

All i want to know is if Project Beast was shown. Can't find a reliable source of info. Sorry, i was sleeping (europe). If not, that was disappointing. From the looks of the quick picks of info, it looks like Sony didn't show much. Time to back and research some more.

Just found it. Bloodborne. Looked cool, but, it's just damm CGI trailer. God knows when it will even launch now. The only game i was interested from Sony and nothing. But it is a PS4 exclusive after all. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.

microsoft conference was underwhelming and sony stomped on microsoft.

Outside of Sunset Overdrive (which looked pretty good) MS really didn't deliver...

Forza- don't care about racing games

Halo Collection- never cared about the Halo games besides Reach and Halo 1.

New Crackdown, sorry but Crackdown 2 left a sour taste in my mouth so I have no desire to even care about the new one.

You are such a good poster but you are so misinformed on this one. Sorry, but Crackdown 2 was made after most of the original team left and was forced to work under a very strict deadline and in the end they couldn't deliver their vision. This new Crackdown is a reboot and with no one else but the legendary Dave Jones (the creator of GTA and Lemmings - oh the irony :D) at the helm, you know the original director of the first Crackdown.

still doesn't strike me as OMG amazing. The first game was fun and co-op before that really caught on, but I don't think a game like that would sell by itself today. It was too barebones and the controls were wonky. It was a fun distraction while we waited for the Halo 3 beta to arrive, but that's about it. Once your agent got strong enough, there was no challenge at all in the game.

My friend, it was one of the very few open-world sandbox action TPP games set in an urban environment that I actually played from start to finish and enjoyed every second of it till the very end. Unlike glorified GTA which treats you like a 12-year old errand boy and has unnecessary exposition and shitload of cutscenes which destroy the immersion.

Sony always shove boring non-gaming shit in the middle of their conferences and then get back to the games. It's happened every single year I remember and yet there's always shock and outrage and crying. Lol, internet forums. My advice is have a lengthy toilet break or something.

Still have my doubts about this new Crackdown, the first one was pretty amazing for what it was trying to do. Also I have no idea why they are doing a reboot for a game that only came out what 6 ish years ago.

Sony>>MS this E3.

Why are you so hell-bent on worshipping Sony and shitting on Microsoft? Can't you give it credit when its due? Or leave it alone and simply praise your Sony without shitting on MS at the same time? Where your beloved company clearly showed no interest in bringing any major titles for the Japanese audience which you pretend to belong to?

I own both systems but have been playing the PS4 a little bit more. And after last years and this years E3 i might sell my Xbone. Theres a few good line ups but sony smashed it with there games and features.

Plus most of all microsofts games looked like i could get on the nintendo wii...

The more "Japanese-centric" games will probably be shown at TGS.

You can paint it pretty and twist it anyway you want. The fact is Sony didnt show up. How many side scroller indies did they show? TV, TV shows and a movie promo? Wtf? 2014 is a barren wasteland and Driveclub being a no show might point to its 7th delay.

Very underwhelming.

After doing some more research, i don't think either "won", but MS definitely went ahead because of teh Master Chief Collection. If Sony had revelad Bloodborne gameplay, then maybe not, but with only a CGI reveal, and no real exclusives of great value on the level of that collection, i'd say Microsoft topped Sony this year.

Sony is being a serious letdown for me so far. Gonna have to wait 2 years or more for the proper great exclusives (UC and BB) to show up.

Have to watch Ubi and Nintendo now.

Some good games, but that was not how I like my conferences to be. MS was quick and to the point. Games.

Sony had some dudes on stage talk about how crazy it is that PS+ has gotten so many more subscribers. As if them charging for MP had nothing to do with it.

Then there was the comic and TV stuff, which was boring beyond belief, and the random jumps from game to game without any introduction were just flat-out weird. HERE'S LITTLE BIG PLANET

It's funny how Sony might just be the only in this E3 to have shown movie/media related stuff.

Sure, that's what he said. A lot of people are into that. 100+ maps, all 4 games are seamless now, 4000 achievement points, 1080p/60fps.

You think Sony won with mutiplats, indie showcase and a F2P showcase? lulz.

Sure, that's what he said. A lot of people are into that. 100+ maps, all 4 games are seamless now, 4000 achievement points, 1080p/60fps.

You think Sony won with mutiplats, indie showcase and a F2P showcase? lulz.

I don't think I mentioned Sony dude. Learn to read if you want to comment. But a collection of old games is not generation defining. It's trying to get some sales without any work at new games. Which is what should excite people. NOT retreads.

Did you guys notice that Microsoft didn't mention the Xbox 360 a single time during it's own press conference...but Sony mentioned it twice.

MS doesn't support old consoles in reality....it's all about the new one.

Right, I am not big on the remakes either. I skipped the Halo C.E. remake even though I am a huge Halo fan. The MC Collection is the way to go big on a remake so I am in on this one.

Pretty much. I'm not even a big fan of HD remakes of games, but the fact that it's 4 whole games, 1080p and 60FPS, and achivements, etc, and more than one. hundred. freaking maps, all remastered too, is extremely good value.

And i say all of this as someone who is more interested in Bloodborne than Halo. But i can't deny that that actual gameplay reveal + release this fall (this fall right)?, is huge. If i had an xbone and a PS4 right now, i'd be losing my shit over the collection more than anything from sony. Even if you don't want to invest in Halo much, you can still just play the original trilogy, and still have the multiplayer.

Again, this is between Sony and MS.

which ones besides Naughty Dog, a CGI trailer for bloodborne and The Order 1886 (sigh, continues to look bad)? Not trolling, really asking, i'm searching for the exclusive reveals since i missed it.

LBP3, Infamous First Light, Intwined, Uncharted 4, Suda51 game, Bloodborne, ratchet and clank:Re-imagining and the million timed exclusives they've shown>>> Froza, sunset ( which were both already announced games ) and a halo HD collection ( i thought lems hated remasters lololol ).

Sony>>MS this E3

all MS had were multiplats and Halo collection

So I guess Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Fable Legends, Ori, Project Spark, Halo Guardians and Phantom Dust dont count, but DLC does? Lol come on man, Sony was terrible last night. Best announcement was Grim Fandango being remade.

I'm not even a Lemming (more sheep than anything) and it was painfully obvious that Sony was completely outdone and outclassed by MS. MS didn't resort to taking potshots at Sony every chance it could. Sony was childish and at the end of the day didnt show as many games as MS. MS delivered.

You don't need any better indication of just how badly Sony destroyed Microsoft at this year's E3 yet again than Xbox fans' main highlight of the show being Microsoft crapping yet more shiny green power ranger Halo games.

After fourteen years of failure in the console market and with their third failed console you would think Microsoft would have gotten the clue that no one outside of the niche hardcore Xbox fanbase gives a crap about Halo.

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • focused more on colourful games (among other things)

I actually thought MSes conference was equally geared with casual and core games.

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • focused more on gritty games(among other things)

I agree. Sony's conference was almost directly aimed at the hardcore gamer with LBP3 and No Man's Sky being respites.

Let's not talk too crazy here. Two games does not a Japan make. Also, Sony can utterly rely on having a strong presence at TGS. I am utterly convinced that Sony wanted to make their case to the western markets at E3 where the lions share of the gamers are. Japan can have it's own day.

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • showed that it still cares about its old franchises (Phantom Dust reimagined)

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • only seemed to care about their recent franchises (TLOU rerelease)

Oh, that's not entirely accurate. Sony did show off a Mortal Kombat and Grim Fandango seem to say otherwise. Sony did a real good job at reaching out to your more aged gamers imho.

Microsoft during its E3 conference:

  • Only talked games

Sony during its E3 conference:

  • Also talked about boring, and stupid non-gaming related content

Now this is just a weak ass cop-out. Sony had stuff to actually announce. Morpheus would be available, Vita TV, PSNow going to open beta and a clever segway between a Ratchet and Clank movie with a R&C game coming to PS4. I know you Lemmings seem to key in on your talking point mantras and MSes conference being 90 minutes of cross-plat trailers sprinkled with some exclusives makes for a good one. Saying that Sony's conference was boring because they just so happen to have more going on with the PS4 is kind of douchey. As if Sony should have just rearranged their conference to be 90 minutes of trailer splashes? Sorry, PS4 doesn't need a radical rebranding of itself at E3. I'm sure you'll expect an apology from Cows all year long for that, though.

Microsoft Delivered nothing a bunch of games we already knew that was coming, with a couple of ones which I went o at, MS far from delivered showed us a bunch of games what we've seen and heard about since last E3,

Sony was diverse and shocking, they had the WOW factor, yes Microsoft have great games coming brliiant but it was a show of games I and most other people knew was coming except the odd 1 or 2.

Crackdown 3 cannot wait, Scalebound looked interesting, Fable legend looks teerible that isn't even a Fable game, they've took everything what made Fable, Fable and gave us that rubbish, , Ori looked ok, Project Spark is on PC, Halo Guardians???? What Halo Guardians a snippet inbetween the collection edition, Phantom Dust a small minority will know what that is and the rest were first person shooters mostly, ok at that except from Evolve.

I'm sorry but how anyone can say Sony didn't nail it is beyound me, I saw more games in Sony conference which intrigued my interest and my taste in the more diverse gaming genre's and games which i didn't even know about, than Microsofts conference which showed me more of the same which i already knew about, I knew MS would let me down again as normal, everything what was a massive wow had already been leaked and announced.

Is it very interesting to see PS fans levy all this praise like Sony can do no wrong considering the irony between the two conferences. We saw this mantra a little last year as well, it's almost as if serious brainwashing has occurred.
