Actually it does affect the PSN. Since you get you online MP free. Dev's have to pay for their own servers, and they will pull the pug if not enough people are playing. So this REALLY affects the PS3. Especially when XBL games will remain online, and same for Xbox.
I can't believe Sony is making the devs make their own online interface, its rediculous. What did you expect from Sony? It's not like they are rich. They don't have to be rich. They can charge a fee like MS.

Here's the problem: There's no one playing a certain game in Xbox Live. What's the point of keeping online active in a game that is barren online?

P.S. Theres no indication that it is due to the PS3 at all, MGS: PO will still be offering online and its on PSP without it's unified system. Online games goes offline all the time, just read the article to get that much.

Here's the problem: There's no one playing a certain game in Xbox Live. What's the point of keeping online active in a game that is barren online? Because some people STILL do play those games. And just like MGS3, not too many people are left online. And some of you here are complaining...And I only have to pay 50 bucks a year to assure this.

Lemmings never argue the topic at hand. Ok, I'll play the game with you. So paying $50 for Halo 2 for infinite is better, than not paying a online fee and play it for a couple of years? I understand since Halo is the only good franchise, but PS3 has more than one great game to be played.

Gamespy is really bad. XBL is light years way better than gamespy so don't even try and argue it isn't.
