Game Developers Conference Announcements

Has this topic been done before? Probably, Im just too lazy to see if it has and how many have done it but one more wont hurt.

GDC is right around the corner and the internet is ablaze with rumours coming in from left and right. So my question to you is, what are you most looking forward to hearing, or what do you want to hear from GDC? What announcements?

And feel free to say any announcement I missed that you are looking forward to.

I wanted to see the new game of team ico, but Sony will save it for E3.

Final Fantasy XIII release date, onstage demo, and a new trailer.

Don't care about anything else.

isn't GDC more of a gathering for developers? I know things have been announced their before, but it's not really the place were we should expect major announcements.Broman6015

GDC last year was remembered for one announcement...Gears of War 2 :| why do you people keep thinking there will be a ton of announcements? I actually think all of the things you listed will happen. Aside from MGS5, I think that has a higher chance of being shown at E3. Floppy_Jim

Even though not much will be annouced, a new Jak and Daxter for PS3 wouldn't hurt :P

I seriously doubt we'll see a release date for ODST before E3.

Nothing much I'd like a new Zelda game to be announced but I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, I look more towards E3, TGS, or random announcements by the developers for actual information on games. GDC isn't bad, but don't usually expect anything THAT spectacular.

Considering Ratchet and Clank Future and Resistance 2 were both revealed towards the beginning of the year (pre-E3) the year they came out ..... I think Insomniac/Sony are probably getting pretty close to revealing what they have for this year if that trend continues ...... so I think there might be some news on that. They might just promote Resistance DLC and possibly another Ratchet downloadable and wait for E3 for the game reveal I suppose .... but hopefully they let the cat out of the bag.

Ueda will probably just thow us mysterious hints about the next Team ICO game. :evil:

A member of our forums (Teeda) was kind enough to share some of the latest rumors involving the Game Developers Conference with us. There are some very interesting tidbits in there that should make every PlayStation fan very happy should they pan out to be true. Here's the latest:

New 80gb PS3 bundled with 2 games will be launched at the end of March.it will cost 399$ (already confirmed).- New 40gb ps3 sku will be launched this May. The cost will be 299$.

- PSP slide will be shown for the first time in this year's E3. The launch is next year.

- The currently available PSP model will get a price cut too. The cost will be 119$.

- Fumito Ueda will be there at GDC '09. He will announce 2 projects. One of them is Shadow of the Colossus Online.

- Syphon Filter is underway to PS3. Apparently the developers are using the same engine behind Killzone2.

- Insomniac is developing a new action platformer RPG. It looks like a Zelda clone.

- Jak 4 is on the way too.

- Daxter 2 will be on ready at the time of PSP slide launch.

- Legend of Dragoon is under development and is to be launched in japan this year.

There are being reported as rumors, nothing more, so until GDC has come and gone take them with a grain of salt. Very exciting if true, however!

I am just hoping for some Half Life 2 Episode 3 information. A video, a screenshot, hell... even an interview. I... need... SOMETHING.

Sweetness, as long as the plot is better then Jak 3 (the ending mostly sucked) it'll do great.
