saw this earlier, they praised the gameplay, but naturally, such a terribly written and developed story would deep impact a game set in the Star Wars universe far more than normal.
I always knew that the premise of cloning the protagonist from the first FE would backfire badly, it was truly such a foolish concept.
It just had so much potential, and now its got worse reviews then the first one.....saw this earlier, they praised the gameplay, but naturally, such a terribly written and developed story would deep impact a game set in the Star Wars universe far more than normal.

it could have had a great story and longer gameplay, but it looks like all they did was focus on tweaking the controls, menu, and some animations

There was absolutely no way to do that well.
I agree with them the game is worse than the 1st one. I give the 1st one a solid 8, but the TFUL2 gets a 6.0 from me. The game has a horrible story, bad voice acting, 6 hour SP. The only good thing about the game is its gameplay, its much improved over the 1st one. If your a fan of the 1st game you will be very disappointed in its sequel. And by the looks of it a 3rd game in the series will be made... I only say that because the game ended in a horrible cliffhanger.
I don't see why it is a disappointment when no one expected anything. At least I didn't, especially after the crappy demo:P
The first one sucked, why would the second be any better?
I still can't figure out why LA is wasting their time on this trash.

I'm with you on this. These Force Unleashed games are basically God of War in the Star Wars extended universe. They make the protagonist look like Randy Orton from the WWE, because they know that it will appeal to lots of console gamers :P. They make a button-mashing, hack and slash game that's about 10 steps back from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series in terms of gameplay. Everything so over-the-top.. cheesy storylines.. Really sad that this is what we're getting from the "next-gen."

What...? You do know the voice actor for Starkiller...LOOKS like Starkiller...right? :P But yea, it is somewhat button-smashing. They didn't pull of the ideas that they got from other games, but it is an alright game. The story for the first one was great, though the gameplay was lackluster and the port for the PC version was just horrible. Only reason I "acquired" the first game was just because it was Star Wars lol. They make a button-mashing, hack and slash game that's about 10 steps back from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series in terms of gameplay.

Those games never had deep melee combat. It boiled down to essentially spamming the attack buttons.
It is foolish. It did not work in the Alien series and it will not work for SW video games. How are you supposed to care about a protagonist who is merely a shadow of what audiences connected with in the previous game?saw this earlier, they praised the gameplay, but naturally, such a terribly written and developed story would deep impact a game set in the Star Wars universe far more than normal.

How are you supposed to care about a protagonist who is merely a shadow of what audiences connected with in the previous game? its not certain wether he is the original starkiller or just a clone i thought? anyway star wars has had clones in it before (boba fett, clone troopers etc.) the action takes place in the cloning base on kamino, from Attack of the Clones. but yeah the alien movie with the ripley clone was a bad idea. It does not matter if they connect this to Clone Wars, it still makes the protagonist a stranger to the audience. All the struggles overcame by the real protagonist do not matter as much if he is dead or this clone is getting memories of him.saw this earlier, they praised the gameplay, but naturally, such a terribly written and developed story would deep impact a game set in the Star Wars universe far more than normal.

i wouldn't call it a dissapointment, the first one wasn't very good so i wasn't expecting much from this one.
What a shame. I thought the first one would be good but it didn't reach my expectations. Looks like it's the same with this one.
What is this logic? A sequel is usually better than the original. The questions is why wouldn't it be better? The first one sucked, why would the second be any better?

When it comes to star wars stories I tend to judge for myself. Since some fans overreact. Like the part when vader got mad when he found out his wife is dead. Proboly no wasint the right word to go with but everything came off fine to me.
After playing the demo, I felt underwhelmed. I was expecting a big leap (for some reason) over the last game. The gameplay feels about the same, and the story - like mentioned in the review - does seem rather absurd. Clones? Didn't they perfect mass cloning in episode 2? I don't get it. The only major improvement were some of the phyics effects and the graphics were really nice.iammason
Wellthe clones were just of a regular guy. He just was a great bounty hunter thats all. He didint have any powers.
Cloning is such a cop-out in storytelling. It's just basically announcing to the world "we didn't really try." A new protagonist would have been the best route to go and since they knew they had a franchise on their hands, keep him alive...maybe I'll check this game out when it's on sale for like 15 bucks at GameStop or something.saw this earlier, they praised the gameplay, but naturally, such a terribly written and developed story would deep impact a game set in the Star Wars universe far more than normal.

At least you had actual control over your movements in the midst of an attack. I can't stand playing an action game where all of my movements are predetermined, and I can't change anything in mid-movement. That's what TFU games are like. It's very arcade-like. The melee combat in The Force Unleashed is a joke. It's just a bunch of button combos. I think that's a major step backwards.
