Game of the year predictions 2007

So it's time for another crazy thread. What game will be game of the year and why? My vote goes to Halo 3. Perhaps it's just because of the first Halo. I have placed faith that Halo 3 will finish the fight with an epic single player campaign. On legendary it will take nothing short of battle hardened warriors to finish the game. Hell we might even see Master Chief's faith.

Sure Smash Brothers can complete, but not when it comes to the single player experience. Metal Gear Solid 4 is great, but it does not offer the easy to jump controls that Halo does. Crysis will restrict itself to those who can afford a higher PC.

So there you have it, I believe Halo 3 will take the top award. Maybe i'm wrong. What about you guys?

I'm thinking Crysis, Bioshock or GTA4.

Halo 3 is a bit of a wildcard, the series may well fall subject to GameSpot's famous criticisms of a lack of innovation (TP anyone?) and an adherence to changing a popular formula.

The GOTY 07 is between Mass effect , Bioshock or Crysis . GS will favor new IP over Sequels ( Oblivion vs GeoW ?) . Contender list could be pretty huge .

But wasn't GotY decided by votes? The massive halo fanboy communion would probably get halo 3 the GotY, even if it were to be a dissapointment.

It's his opinion genius.

With so many very strong new IPs coming out, I really doubt that any of the sequals will get GOTY this year.

As for picking a single GOTY...hmm...it's a tie between Bioshock and Crysis. Crysis might just have the edge with its innovative multiplayer mode, but Bioshock will be hard to beat for its singleplayer.

my love for mario wont allow me to do that

plus i think its gonna be different enough from past mario games/ fix the problems of past mario games(camera) to maybe give it a chance, also aside from prime wii doesn't have alot of contenders and g-spot likes to give all consoles a chance

halo 3, however, i don't see straying from the formula enough to contend, still going to be amazing imo

plus the 360 hasquite a fewGOTY-worthy games on the horizon

I'm going to say Bioshock as of right now just b/c I don't think Crysis will be out this fall and I don't think Crysis will live up to the hype. I think it will be another Doom, or another Far Cry, not another HL...good, even great, just not spectacular.LegendofYaslint

Halo 3 doesn't deserve anything, it is the same old, same old. Bioshock looks much more exciting.

Is Crysis is really coming out this year?

yes, it was confiremed yesterday....september.

Halo 3. First comes gameplay then extras then story then graphics, and it's gameplay is already great and you will have more enimies and vehicles in Halo 3, and the extras of customizing a spartan, then the story that is going to be great because it's contnuing the story from Halo:Ce, and it's graphics are still going to be really good by DAMN FX.

then comes:

Bioshock

Crysis

Crysis GOTY.

And you don't need a high end PC to play Crysis. It is super scalable that a lot of 500 dollar PCs can play Crysis.
