The two best games I've experienced so far this gen are Dead Rising and Mass Effect. Far superior experiences to Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, BioShock, Gears of War and the rest of the over-praised crowd.
I'm suprised at the amount of ppl voting for mgs4. Actually im not suprised lulz this site is full of ps3 fanboys. I've played it and found it to be the most overrated game this gen next to GTA4. The story is a convoluted mess. And yes i've played MGS2
from what i've played untill now Metal Gear Solid 4. The story is just that great and it's one of the things i like the most on a game, which mgs4 is the best i've ever seen.

You don't have to be a ps3 fanboy to choose that game as the best this gen so far so I don't see the surprise there .... and I think most of those people who voted for the game don't really care what you think about it .... you aren't going to change anything.
I really haven't enjoyed this gen very much so far but I guess my favorite game of this gen would probably be Oblivion with Super Mario Galaxy coming in at a close second.
That game shouldn't even be on the list. It was nothing more than eye candy with a short, elementary story/campaign.
That's debatable. Despite my favourite being SMG, I also adored Gears. Yeah, the campaign was short, but that's not that bad when you consider that that is a common trend this gen. Besides, I'm playing the multiplayer even those days.
I'm with the minority on this one; Gears of War. It was the first game that truly made me feel this generation had started, and I'll never forget the first time I played it in HD. Can't wait for the sequel...

When Gears of War was relearsed 14 months after the release of the 360 I might add it LOOKED like this gen started to bad it played worse then a lot of 1000's of shooters before... anyway Super Mario Galaxy should be on the list as well as ME an BS BUT NOT Halo 3 or GoW
