I saw that news.
It sucks... but hey... we're all on our way there too, right.
I definately have respect for the man who contributed so much to the hobby I've loved nearly all my life (30 years of gaming and counting)
RIP Yamauchi-san.
he lived a long and healthy and legendary like of rehashes and nostalgic gimmicks...May his perfect, legendary soul rest in peace. John_Matherson

I really don't think System Wars is an ideal forum to place this outside of the lounge.
Being said, as much as I criticized his decisions back when he was leading, I admit he still did good for Nintendo. May he RIP. :(

Oh he was plenty talked about back in the day when he was more directly involved at Nintendo :Prip. this guy should get a lot more recognition for his contributions. this guy was hardly talked about

If we were trying to avoid any and all dissent, this board would not exist. Of course there's gonna be some idiots. Must give him credit for modern day console gaming starting with NES and SNES.
I'd like to think he's just hiding out in silver armor waiting to steal a mutant's power.
Should've been Iwata.Â
I'm joking, but that guy needs to step down as CEO, Yamauchi knew what was important.

(Now if SW could just do this all the time...)
Huge loss.

Not be insensitive, but not really. That guy has not been active in gaming for a while.

Yet, as many have said, he did  a lot   for this industry. Although he was no longer intricately involved, he (and many others) have made gaming what it is today. That's a big loss, no matter what way you slice it.

Fatality...

Seriously, you guys are scum.Nintendo consoles are dead as well. Ironic.

Well, Yamauchi is one of the biggest reason why Nintendo's relationship with 3rd party developers are so poor to begin with. At the same time, we needed someone like him to stabilize the industry we know today. Without Yamauchi, not even cows can enjoy the Playstation brand.Rest in peace.
As expected, assholes just being assholes in this thread.
