Just thought of this right now and Im posting on impulse. What if games were priced based on their Metacritic score and this was enforced by law. And for the sake of making this debatable, lets say reviewers arent allowed to post BS 1/10 reviews or take bribes.

$60 is the maximum. Yeah I know this is a random and crazy idea but what if. One pro I can see is developers pushing to make better games fearing that their game might end up releasing at $20.

It would be a disaster if critics determined the gamining market.

This. Devs would be afraid to release games, because they could lose a ton of money if the critics didn't like the game.

I like the Idea but it would never fly due to the fact that they would just bribe a bunch of reviewers to give the game a good score. No one wants to see Big Rigs win game of the year

That would give reviewers too much power to be honest. Personally I like the idea because a lot of games I like score in the 6 -7 ranges here.

A law based on Metacritic? The site that doesn't even have OoT on their list of greatest games ever?

Developers would quit.... big and small there would be huge protest as well....

This idea would DESTROY the game industry itself

It would be dumb. I don't think a games sales should be affected by a small groups opinion like that. I can imagine one of my underappreciated games being forced into the bargin bin at launch and ultimately hurting the developing studio because a small group of reviewers have a different opinion then I do.

Oh and there would totally be bribes and misconduct in the review system. We wouldn't be able to trust reviews even more then currently and worst of all they would and could hurt our favorite developers.

oh god no.

becouse then if i wanted to play a good game thats realy old like splinter cell double agent. instead of paying the 5 bucks i did for it ide spend near full price. plus the gameing market would plumment from the lack of peaple buying games becouse it wasnt full price a.k.a. wwasnt good anough when it realy was

plus reviewers are some of the biggest air heads this gen. i dont want them to decide the price

Disaster. Because a review is just someone's opinion. Its would be so variable.
