I have played alot of games with great bosses. Kingdom hearts, Zelda, ff7, Ninja Gaiden, Shadow of the colossus, Metal gear solid (1-4). But I just beat God of War 3 and I have to say that game has the best boss fights I have ever played. Each fight is distinct and not overly simple. I was wondering what is your favorite game judging just from the boss battles.

They were pretty awesome, but I liked DMC4's bosses a lot. I thought they were great.

God Of War has epic boss fights, but I think we can all agree that Metal Gear Solid has the best. Killer7 had some truely wacky, and original boss battles though. :) For me, MGS and Killer7. Favorite being Pyscho Mantis from MGS1 (He could actually read your memory cards, revealing what games you've been playing :shock: ), and the Shinya & Hiroyasu boss battle from Killer7.

Zelda has soem great bosses, so does RE, especially 4. But IMO this goes to Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Both game had some of the best boss fights I've ever played. Plus Prime 2 had Quadraxis.

-Metroid Prime 3
-Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
-Devil May Cry 4 has good boss fights, but it repeats them too much.

All time is probably, the entire Metroid franchise. Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, and Metroid Prime 2 are exceptional in this department, with Fusion and Prime 3 taking care of business as well. Shadow of the Colossus is probably my runner up to the metroid series. Ninja Gaiden Black, Devil May Cry 1/3, God of War 2, the Zelda series, Metal Gear Solid series all come to mind as well.

Forgot about Metroid they had some great bosses too.

There are a lot of games with great boss fights, so, i'm only gonna mention games this gen

- Bayonetta, the boss battles are Huge and Epic, not so hard on normal but they are very espectacular, besides the fights against Jeanne are even better IMO, more challenging and all, and the final boss while easy, the feeling you get in the battle is great, it really screams EPIC.

- DMC4, while a lot of people didn't like it, personally i love the battle against the Savior

- Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, they weren't nearly as great as Metroid Prime or Echoes, but it has some great ones too.

- MGS4, again, not all so great, but a lot of them are incredible, like the final boss.

- NMH, they were fun, really fun.

That's all i guess, at least from this gen.

Painkiller

the second boss specifically. he is so huge and fighting him + hordes of undead zombies feels so awesome.

The Resident Evil and Zelda series have some great boss battle in my opinion.

Fur Fighters had good boss battles.

Any Legend of Zelda game has superb boss fights.

Oh man, how could I forget SOTC, or Zelda? Phantom Hourglass had some ingenious bosses.

The Imulsion Brumak at the end of Gears of War 2!!!

-The Zelda series has always given me some great boss-fights

-The Metal Gear Series also has some memorable boss-fights, but more because of the 'emotional' factor and the narrative.

Final Fantasy has some great bosses, but isn't as consistent as the Zelda series IMO. I loved some fights in e.g. FFX, but then the end boss was extremely easy. DMC4 is a great game as well, with some interesting bosses, but it doesn't have the same strong puzzle elements... SotC consists of Boss fights... etc. etc.

But basically any Boss-fight that has a great influence on a solid story is memorable...

Fable 2, obviously. Just for the final boss. Any other answer is wrong. :P

Devil May Cry 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Odin Sphere, Super Metroid, MDK2, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater come to mind as the best.

Off the top of my head, I'll limit my list to games this gen:

• Metal Gear Solid 4
• God Of War 3
• Demon's Souls
• Bayonetta
• Zelda: Twilight Princess

metal gear solid 4 has the best and most epic boss battles i ever played, so far

going to have to agree with demon's souls, bayonetta, and shadow of the colossus.

The Halo games hands down.

Metroid Prime series has some of the best bosses ever. First time I fought Omega Pirate :o Metroid Prime 2 Quadraxis :o Metroid Prime 3 Mogenar :o

Legend of Zelda, Metroid Prime, God of War 3, Ninja Gaiden, and Metal Gear Solid 4 has some epic boss fights.

SOTC, Zelda, God of War, and definitely Demon Souls.

TP would be a no brainer. All the Boss fights were Epic. Well thought out strategies. Amazing things...Final Boos fight was one of the most Epic events ever....The Boss Fights were just too easy :(

By far Demon's Souls, but with special mention to MGS4 and Zelda.
