So far
1) MGSIV
2) Mass Effect
3) Heavenly Sword
But Heavy Rain will probably have the best models once released...
Crysis easily.
Runner-up? depends. MGS4's main models beat ME's ones, but the secondary models in MGS4 are a lot less detailed than the main ones, ME keeps up it's quality a lot more evenly through all models
Crysis easily. The amount of detail on them is insane.aliblabla2007Well no i play Crysis on Very high with the natural mod but i still easily believe mgs4 has way better character models, naomi, snake and all the characters display emotion on their faces perfectly. The way that snakes face also cringes when he gets impacted by an explosion is amazing and nothing comes close.

This are some Crysis faces:
One's ingame, the other's from an ingame cutscene. Does MGS4 have anything that matches up?
Dammit you are too arrogant ive played Crysis, ive seen Pshyco's face and the general's, you even chose a low res shot, Mgs4 won best technical graphics for a reason, it displayed the best character emotions and animation, just answer the question with proof; have you played ALL of MGS4?godofwar2610
He already provided proof, you just don't like it. This is a thread to compare character models, what exactly do you consider a fair comparison?
I imagine it has something to do with footage from a MGS4 actor driven cut scene to Crysis real time.

OK but this contains massive spoilers.
LINK
Watch all three parts in high quality and no annoyed dragon they arent all actor driver cut scenes (even Crysis does it who cares???)

No need, I have already seen a good bit of the game.
So what exactly do you want me to get from this? Crysis's character models are better, you refer to character facial animations yet link me to in engine cut scenes. Are you seriously asking people to compare MGS4 cut scenes to Crysis in game?
the scenes are impressive and with excellent direction, but it doesn't change the fact that the models in them are far less detailed than Crysis ones. They lack both polygonal and texture detail (they look plasticky as hell).OK but this contains massive spoilers.

You do realize it was motion captured for MGS4? In terms of technical animation, crysis is the best.Dammit you are too arrogant ive played Crysis, ive seen Pshyco's face and the general's, you even chose a low res shot, Mgs4 won best technical graphics for a reason, it displayed the best character emotions and animation, just answer the question with proof; have you played ALL of MGS4?godofwar2610
lol touched a nerve with a responce of screen shots?
By your definition animation = technical graphics  well, there was also 'a reason' why a lot of people were up in arms about the decision and a flurry of discussion taking place on the forums immediately after. That to me indicated that a lot of people disagreed with GSs decision on best Graphics: Technical. In fact a lot of us thought it was laughable.
So, I'm sorry to break it to you, hiding behind the fact it was gamespot's best graphics technical isn't going to wash with the more intelligent individuals on these boards.
I also just wanted to finish by pointing out that you getting upset by him posting screenshots that clearly proved you wrong means that you realised you were proved wrong...and it upset you.
Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden 2, Dead or Alive 4, SC: Double Agent, Soul Calibur IV, Crysis, Rainbow6:Vegas 2, Gears all have some very impressive char models.killab2oo5agreed espechally SC4
Call of duty 4 and W@W have amazing Character models.Gh0st_Of_0nyxalso agreed, considering it runs at 60 fps
MGS4 easilymetalgear-solid
MGS IV has a sort of smooth look to it. They have that japanese/anime look, while games like Crysis and Mass Effect have a more realistic look. MGS IV has great character models, but Mass Effect's models look much better. They also look more realistic.
Virtua Fighter 5
When it comes to games that actually have more than 2 character models at once it's MGS4 followed by Mass Effect in my opinion, on consoles at least.
