Game with best independent character personalities

I want to know what game you think has the best independent character personalty. I'm going to have to go with Ratchet and Clank. I think they have some pretty unique characters in their games.

Uncharted, hate to bring this game up into another topic but the characters are one of the best parts of the game.

Also half life 2 is another example of the characters really being one of the best parts of a game.

I don't know if it counts, but Yusuf Amir from TBOGT is one great character. Especially the line : " We were having a meeting and... things were a little bit crazy and.. uh, i somehow lost my pants!"

Any Tim schafer game.

I can't think of any game that approaches Persona 4 in that regard, except Phoenix Wright (earlier ones...Apollo Justice had some lazy-ass characterization).

Monkey Island has had some great characters as well, but they weren't as well rounded as in some other games since they only played comedic roles.

Mass Effect, nuff said.

The World Ends With You and Persona 4 have some great, quirky characters.

Final Fantasy 9, Persona 3, and Persona 4.

Little Busters.

The characters in Dragon Age are pretty great. Especially Shale.

Mass Effect imo

I liked most personalities in the UC series. Nate, Sully are awesomely cool... ****, I even liked Tenzin's personality and the mofo doesn't speak a single word in English.

Also, I'm going to cheat a bit here, but Batman AA... the Joker wins. Nuff said.
