Awwww Yeahhh

Day 1'n that sum'bitch....You?
Sony going to make Squeenix go broke, they've had to chuck studios and IPs to stay afloat while their Sony exclusivity deals which led to the ousting of previous leadership run their course.
Yeah, I have the deluxe edition per-ordered. I loved part 1, so I'm very much looking forward to playing Rebirth.

Just recently finished Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion and what a sad ending. Brought tears to my eyes. Loved the story and character of Zack. Absolutely loved Final Fantasy VII Remake and the Yuffie dlc. Needless to say I am very hyped for this game.
I bought the original on PS4 when it released and Sony screwed over everyone on PS4 with the intergrade DLC, so I'll just wait until it comes out on PC and play it at 120 fps.
@fedor: "Will grab the PC version this coming summer."
I dunno, there's no word on FFXVI yet and you think they'd have some word of that by now, but just crickets there.
@fedor: "They announced 16 for PC officially back in September."
It was said to be coming to PC even before the PS5 game released. The September news in ways is still ambiguous but it's actually consistent with the 2022 Game Awards trailer saying basically the game's PS5-only exclusivity window is the remainder of the 2023 year.
Well, guess by that rationale they could release the game as early as Juanuary 1st 2024, at earliest. I think Sony's marketing/exclusivity contracts are very restrictive at making explicit statements of future plans known publicly, likely to not undermine the advantage of their deal. Kind of like how everyone seemed to know Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo would arrive on Xbox after 1 year of PS5 exclusivity, though nobody at liberty to say could outright say so.
Anyhow, that ResetEra thread about Sony-Squeenix deals there was chatter about how Square Enix will let those windows run their course without other ports ready to go, so Sony was at an advantage to cheaply keep their games off other systems since Square Enix didn't want to burden themselves with costs. If true, perhaps FFXVI misses the ability to launch at the start of next year, but still coming.
I might have better faith in a timely PC release of the next FFVII installment just because if Square Enix fails to release FFXVI on PC at earliest available opportunity, I could chalk that up as a failure of the previous leadership. The new leadership might be more proactive about making sure that version is done in a timely manner.
But, unfortunately we can't really know, I've no doubt transparency about future releases on other platforms is kept locked down due to Sony's legalese. But it is rather surprising they made this arrangement. Sony seemed fine with PS5 console exclusives releasing on PC simultaneously, this seems to be an exception some reason, and Square Enix doesn't look to be benefiting from it.
I did enjoyed the first one because of nostalgia and the combat is crazy fun. I hope there is more exploration and map is bigger on the 2nd one.
This multiplatform game should be good!
And what other system is it coming out on at launch?

It’s coming to Microsoft Windows PC shortly after launch. Great news for gamers don’t you agree?

True. SONY and gen leading PS5 is winning in exclusives and of coarse sales.
The real funny thing is that the 2 companies that still do believe in exclusives (Nintendo & Sony) are the only 2 who currently have successful platforms. (PS5, Switch)

Please don't screw it up. Pleeease don't screw it up.
I enjoyed remake in fairness. Overall they did good.
Some goofy nonsense in it too (and i'm not talking about THAT bit...that bit was well done, credit to them) and the extra story bits are.....er....well they better have an overall plan that pays off.
But the gameplay was fun, it looked great and, when it focused on the source material, it was great.
I'll be waiting for the PC version though. Hopefully Square do a better port this time (in fairness They did put their hands and and say that they need to do better. I think the Reunion port was better too so promising signs). I have soooo many things to play in the meantime.
On a side note, Just to keep hype in check for this:
Fingers crossed though...hopefully it's a belter.
