games are a fantastic medium for delivering a story. games like half life, silent hill, final fantasy, bioshock, zelda, metriod and many more have great story lines. far better than some of the rubbish that passes for films these days. but when the story ends does that mean the game ends. when its finished should the game be put back in the box and never played again or returned too the store. surely its the game play that makes the game fun and addictive and the reason too keep coming back, otherwise why not just watch someone play the game youtube. which is why im always puzzled why games like bioshock or heavenly swordget critisised for being too short. whilst story is nice garnish the main cousre is the gameplay. and its great game play that will make you return again and again

How important the narrative really depends on the game but for those who insist on a really good story you could try a book.
