I guess the staff at GS had to prove their claims about the 360 version because the lems were in uproar.

The colors were different and the cobblestone looked better on the PS3 but really besides that I didn't see much else.
Woah. The difference is pretty big. The PS3 version is quite alot better looking than the 360 version. PC wins again, though.aaronmullan
Please explain the "quite a lot better looking" besides the cobblestone.

Colours, lighting, textures etc. Yeah, it's better looking.[QUOTE="spinecaton"][QUOTE="aaronmullan"]Woah. The difference is pretty big. The PS3 version is quite alot better looking than the 360 version. PC wins again, though.aaronmullan

Colours, lighting, textures etc. Yeah, it's better looking. The colors are effected by the lighting only, everything is just darker. And the only texture that is better is the cobblestone. Unless I am completely blind which is a possibility.
Yeah, the difference looks pretty big.
Doesn't make me enjoy the game (360 only owner :( )any less though :P
i feel bad for bioware fans that are forced to play with the 360 version,i don't feel bad for microsoft fanboys. Theyall have high end gaming laptops
PS3 version is indeed a bit more crisp. However, in a lot of those 360 shots it simply looks like the contrast is tweaked up a bit too high as well. At any rate, I have a 360 collector's edition on the way and I will get to compare it with the PS3 version I already own first hand. From what I am seeing here, the difference is certainly not big enough to get worked up over and I am almost certain that the contrast needed to be turned down on the 360 shots.

instead of looking washed out, it looks rather good. That's the difference.Maybe I'm not checking the right threads at the right times, but are many lems actually denying that DA:O looks better on the PS3? I'm not really seeing the DC that cows are claiming....dsmccrackenhuh? Didn't you read the DA:O sticky? It was filled with outraged lemmings searching the internetz for something that will save them. They only could find a 2 minute long video though :P

The textures for the most part are identical.

Yeah, a little adjustment on the tv set will brighten the colors up. The contrast is most definitely too high and is giving it a more washed out look as a result. PS3 has some noticeably better textures, such as on the cobblestone roads, trees, ect, but I am not so sure the difference warrants a .5 advantage beings the 360 version supposedly runs a bit better. Seems to even the score, in my opinion.

You must be looking at a different screenshot comparison than I. I will agree the difference is not that significant in terms of textures. But the color difference is huge and the texture difference IS obvious.[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="spinecaton"]

It was in the sticky! and I'm no cow.. they were even citing other review sources as their proof.
If anything the comparison just shows the PC is miles ahead of the consoles. Too bad the game wasn't made exclusively for the PC. Bioware could then really up the visuals without having the consoles hold them down.

Why would you think that? This is system wars, if you don't agree with one person you are automatically a fanboy of another system :P

Always an excuse. It's hardly an excuse. That doesn't make sense. They released it as they did on the PC and ported it to the consoles with console specific controls, not the other way, and yet you think the consoles held the PC back? It's just as easy to say the PC held the console versions back.[QUOTE="lundy86_4"]
Yeah, I saw the other thread on this. It does seem to go PC>>>>PS3>360. Differences aren't huge, but they're there.
Hopefully we'll get a much more in depth comparison.

There was another thread? =/ .. I would have just used that one if I saw it.
Late last night, but it seems to have dropped down pretty far. I don't think it's a big deal.
Either way, it's going to be a popular subject :P

Hell even if the 360 was given multiple DVDs to up the visuals it would probably run no better than the PS3. And you are claiming it could easily be the other way around. That PC is holding back the consoles? Well, if that's what you want to believe go right on ahead.

Maybe that's true, but even if they did spend another 5 years on it there is still no way it would look as good as it could be on a newer PC. At some point there is just no getting around the limits of the hardware on the consoles.

tbh other then the PS3 version being a bit darker I dont see much difference, the PC version is better then both 360 and PS3 version tho.

My favorite games are still on my old consoles. That still doesn't change the facts that the consoles are using hardware from 3 years ago. It's pretty common knowledge that in 3 years time technology has more than doubled in speed/power.
