GameRankings no longer credible.

As of today Gamreankings is no longer using decimal points, they will now be rounding all of their final rankings.

So, if a game averages out to be 89.4 it will be bumped down to an 89. If it averages an 89.6 it will be bumped up to a 90.

It has already had an impact, the top ten it completely different now. Hours ago, Galaxy was number 2. Now that it has been rounded it's tied for number 1 with Ocarina. Several others in the top ten have been affected as well, now that many are simply "tied" with eachother due to rounding.

This new system doesn't make any sense when considering how the overwhelming amount of game review sites use the decimal system. They're taking all of those scores, averaging them, and then either rounding up or down.

Well, bye bye Gamerankings I guess.

The battle for 2nd place (since two games are tied for first) is now an 8 way tie.

Seriosuly, no ****. These scores have no impact on how I personally feel about any of those games, but it does impact how game scores work in this forum (ever since most people seem to be using GR's scores as the official marks after the whole Gerstmann thing.)

UHmmm....if you knew anything about GR, you would know they always HAVE rounded their scores. There are time when the list a game at 90 (for example), but when you click on the game and go to the dedicated game page, the actual average score there is lower. Why? Because they rounded up for the main page.

GR has always rounded their scores for certain aspects of the site. Removing it NOW makes no difference at all.

But it's listed 4th

Super Mario Galaxy is actually above OoT since it has more reviews, meanining that SMG is first and OoT is second. It's far harder to sustain an average of 98% with 50+ reviews than with 30+ reviews. The fact that Metroid Prime is now 4th because of this and not third like it used to be irks me, though. Halo suddenly popped into the list as well, wtf?Hexagon_777

First of all Mario Galaxy and OOT have a score of 97.6.....so even if they didnt round up the score SMG would still be # 1. Just learn to accept it.
