A franchise at the top like that is guaranteed to have vocal haters, they only represent the minority. People don't understand it's not just about games these days, it's also about being part of a "club", a community.
COD gets a refresh every year, members of the COD community will buy it, simple as that. They pay the yearly membership fee, they are part of the club they enjoy being part of, they have fun. Don't see the issue. Some people spend their day playing Candy Crush. Others like to partake in what I consider to be the boring activity of Golf. It's got nothing to do with me, I don't spend time wondering why others enjoy certain things and I don't. I focus on myself.
I don't particularly like the multiplayer in COD, but the Zombie modes are solid. Challenging, fun coop action .....I buy COD games sometimes for that and the campaign alone. I'll tell you something that almost every time I fire up a game of COD, I encounter some cool people online....last time I played Zombie mode it was 3 people with mics who knew what they were doing and we destroyed....fun experience.
