GAMERS REJOICE - Great games, great time to be a gamer!

I think it's amazing.

Personally I feel this is the most exciting time for me as a gamer since I became one back when I got a Sega Master System.
I never recalled so many amazing games coming out in the space of a year. And when I say a year I don't mean 2007 but from now till next year in July.

I mean look at all the amazing games we have coming out:

I guess I'm kind of tired of all the debating over opinions on what's better. I think overall gaming is at an amazing point IMO and is only going to get better

I mean right now from a year starting from today we have Crysis, Halo 3, Mario Galaxy, Starcraft 2, MGS4, HalfLife2:OB and many other big games. I think the fact that so many big name titles are coming out is what is amazing to me.

Kinda like this summer for movies with all the big movies that came out

Yeah I know I won't be able to get Bioshock and Assassins creed probably cause of the games I gotta buy.

Must get for me is: Halo 3, Mass Effect, GTA4, Half-life2: OB

If I had more money I'd get the PS3 and Resistance as well and pre-order my MGS4!!!

I like the analogy of comparing it to this summers movies.

It'll start for me in August when Madden 08 and Metroid come out and last for the rest of the year. Having a 10% discount at work helps...

yea but in 98 you had 4 of the best games EVER come out. None of your games have been reviewed yet, so it is purely speculation. I do hope you are right, I would love these games to live up to the great ones of the past.

Oh yeah, competition is good for business. It's essential. I mean look at what happened to wrestling when the WCW crumbled and Vince Mcmahon bought them. The competition was very small and they coasted and we had a bad bad product that just got worse and worse.

Anyone who wants Sony or MS or Nintendo to fail isn't a fan of gaming. If one company fails it just makes less competition which makes it less good for us as far as games and prices even

I use to be a big WWF fan and it's funny. When they changed it to WWE is when they went downhill for me. The rock was getting ready to leave and Stone Cold didn't have too much time left.

When they got WCW it was the end for me. Vince hated WCW and you can see it in how he worked the WCW angle. It was a joke and he made it all into a joke especially the NWO angle.

If less gaming companies are around then it makes it more likely for less fights and more likely for us to see a $1200 PS4.

The thing about 1998 is that it introduced so many new IPs and then OOT was the icing on the cake, a lot of the big games coming out in the next year are sequels (some the second or even third sequel) to the new IPs in 1998. Unreal Tournament 3, Half Life 2: OB, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Starcraft 2 are all sure to be fantastic games, but they are all sequels to some of the biggest games released in 1998 so this may be a great time for games, but almost every game is a sequel and thus not quite as good as 1998 in my eyes.

Yeah but I'm not talking about after the fact I'm talking about the lead up to. MGS and HalfLife were new games so the hype for that time period on that won't be as big as the hype and circus like feeling with all the amazing titles coming out now. Also there are many new IP's coming out that may become new franchises like how Gears did. Maybe Uncharted could be one or Heavenly Sword or Haze etc...

I still think right now is the biggest feeling of being overwhelmed with so many titles I could buy or want to buy
