VC was a big factor for me, this plus motion controls the GC catalouge (I have over 60 games from last gen) and the Nintendo 1st and 2nd party games.

I own a wii atm because 80% of the game I want toplay on 360 and PS3 are available elsewhere like on the PC. Theres a few j-rpg's available on 360/ps3 that I wouldnt mind buying the other consoles for though it IS due to money. I also own a wii because I sill enjoy some wii exclusive titles available like smash bros brawl, mario kart, fire emblem etc

I'm a Wii only owner.

The reason is because I believe that Nintendo knows what they're doing when it comes to gaming. They have heart, they play the field well, they don't fold to being mainstream.

Before people get on my tail about my claim about them not being "mainstream", let me unpack the term: "Mainstream" by following the trend of what's selling. That is, fspers, "powerful consoles", gore, etc. Nintendo did the opposite, just because it paid off doesn't mean they followed the mainstream, they just set the new mainstream (that is, "casuals games"). They've done this in the past too, with the NES and getting gaming popular.

The bottom line is, they care about gaming, fun and gameplay, that's what it's all about to me.

A lot of them are not much more then flash games that are free on the web

Not trying to make a point these areHonest questions that im intrested in the honest answers

House of the Dead: Overkill, MP3:C, Zack and Wiki and De Blob mainly. I tend to go through stages with games though...

I agree with what you said about motion controls to an extent also, When done right they can be amazing (MP3, Z & W, Any of the "On-Rail" games, RE 4, De-Blob, MG etc.) but they can also feel very tacked on in other less polished games (Red Steel, Starwars... and many others).

I wish more games would approach motion control in a simpler way like Zelda: TP, NMH or RE4, it really does not have to be the focus of every game and should only be used to better the product not just as a novelty :P

Ive played the naruto games on the other consoles the wii seriesseems to be the best though due to its gameplay, about the wiimote they do work ok as a substitute for the gcn controllerand the last released game they added a few extra incentives to use the wiimote such as power-up handsigns and stronger special by using handmovements, these added bits are a step in the right direction and i feel they need to just tighten it up abit.

I'm a Nintendo gamer because I love the games. I enjoy the hectic competition in Brawl and Mario Kart, and really like exploring the game world in games like Metroid Prime and Golden Sun. Mario Platformers offer a fun, cheerful journey into wonderland coupled with controls that just feel right.

Finally, games like Wii Sports and House of the Dead: Overkill are just plain fun and don't radiate a need to reassure me that I'm cool or something, which is what I feel from ultraviolent titles like Gears and MadWorld. They also don't try to be movies. HotD:O and Wii Sports just say "here's a game, have fun."

All the games you listed are remakes of games i have been playing for years

don't get me wrong i like all the new version (except brawl)

Remakes like those (and halo/COD ect.)seem get old fasterwith each new version in my experience

LOL about the Ultraviolent tiles Soooo true but to be fair gear original was a fresh invovative take on a genre that is Flooded with mostbad copys of other companys games

I'm a Wii only owner and although it has some great original games on it (De Blob, The Boom Blox games, No More Heroes Series, Zack And Wiki, The Nintendo 1st Party games and some good motion plus games) and has a pretty good line-up for the future, I'm starting to believe that it can only be truly enjoyed with another console as the games on the PS3/Xbox 360 are very different to the games on t he wii and should be appreciated together, not separately.

Still, I can see how others can live with just the Wii as it has a pretty great library of games and the only reason I think people overlook the wii is because the PS3/360 library has a lot more great games in it's library but that still doesn't mean the wii's library isn't enough for some people as it is for a lot of wii only owners.

It's perfectly possible to own only an Wii and be happy with it, but I'd miss a lot of good games like Valkyria Chronicles and Tales of Vesperia.

Likewise, if I didn't own an Wii I wouldn't be able to play SMG, Z&W and MP3.

I only own a Wii, but I feel I should buy a PS3 (probably Slim since it consumes less space) or a 360 (which I'm sort of getting second thoughts about because Red Ring of Death could appear at anytime and has a former favorite developer of mine, shame because I grew up with Rare too). Anyway, I got a Wii since I've been growing up with Nintendo since the mid-SNES days. I think motion controls is pretty cool, but my favorite part is all games in my big Gamecube collection are compatible, even Star Fox Adventures (playing that on Wii somehow feels like Rare's still with me this gen, even though they're bought by MS and they don't feel the same). Even Virtual Console let's me go back on childhood favorites, although one didn't hold up like it did the gen it came out (Super Mario World, which is still a great game, but it was superb in the past).

I did - only own it - until last November when I got a 360. As of now I still play my Wii more. It has more interesting games to me. The 360 has limited exclusives that I like and of the multiplats I only enjoy a few like SFIV, Dead Space or Mirror's Edge.

The whole premis of the question is kind of weird. Taking out money makes anyone who does not own all three consoles and a high end PC look like nothing but a fan boy. While I only own a wii right now ( just sold my 360 a few weeks ago) if money was not a limiting factor I would have all 5 (counting hand helds) systems with plenty of games for all of them. However, I believe there are enough good to great games on the wii (or any other system) to justify it as one's only console.

I own all three systems but I own the most games on the Wii, To answer your question SMG, Wiisports, and BloomBlox are good example. I really don't think many gamers still play a game after 2-4 months. Once I have beat a game I normally don't go back to play it, there are too many games which I need to play. Right now I am playing an amazing RPG called Phantom Brave on the Wii.

Money is a big factor that can't be ignored seeing as most of mine goes to help pay for college tuition.

Other than that, I realized the hard way that I can't play games without my Nintendo exclusives (I only owned PS2 last gen  ). Also, there are very few games that interest me on the other consoles, with some notable exceptions. I don't like any of the exclusives on the 360 and for the PS3, there are a couple of games I want (SF4, BlazBlue, Valkyria Chronicles), but three or four games doesn't warrant buying a console to me.

Overall I enjoy my Wii a lot. It has some really amazing games and it's great when there are people over (you can't beat the fun of local multiplayer!)

When my 360 got RROD and I didn't have a PS3 until June 2009, the Wii was the only console I had during that time, and I must say, System Wars is right, the Wii isn't that great of a console. Sure, it has variety in genres for it's games, BUT that doesn't always mean it's quality, and if you think that, LMAO at you. The Wii has overrated games, games with not that great online, inferior and missing multiplats, disappointing games, and more, it can never be my system of choice for all these years. But 2010 looks better for the Wii than 2009, some of those Wii games in 2009 didn't deserve such high scores like Punch Out, both that and Little King's Story got an 8.5 and Little King's Story is a much, much better game, Punch Out should had been a 7.0-7.5, but I guess Gamespot wanted the Wii to get more AAs since the console was lacking them until 2009, that's a shame when this site has to overrate games to make them better than they should be.

The Wii isn't all bad though. Some games like Mario Kart Wii have very good online and some of the best games this gen are on the Wii like Super Mario Galaxy. The Virtual Console is what I love about it as well, being able to play those awesome games from the golden age of gaming without have to turn on my other systems and even finding them off amazon and what not. And there are some other great Wii games as well.

The Wii isn't a bad console, it's ok, but it's not worth $250 yet. And Mario Party 8 sucks, let the series die Nintendo, what is your problem, LOL.

I was not going to say much until that last part, Well I disagree with you that the Wii does not have a good library of games because there is always more games I want than I have. I love the Mario Party games and I have been upset that there is going to be at least a 3 year gap between the 8 and the 9th. I am hoping for online on the next Mario Party with Wiispeak would be amazing.

IMO, Mario Party went downhill after 4, 5 was when it started to get worse, and Gamespot agrees with me, look at the scores fro 5-8. I loved 1-3 and 4 was pretty good. By more games I guess you mean varitey, because the Wii has more vareity than the 360 and PS3, it's just that the quality doesn't much it quite well yet IMO.

Add Mario and Sonic and their sports titles, then we're in the clean for Mario. Platformers and Kart racers are the only thing that series is good at.

I chose the Wii not because I was low on cash, just because it's pure awesome.

I chose it for many reasons. I knew the graphics weren't going to be amazing, but I could careless about graphics. The Wii Remote, is just amazing. Look at it. Also, I knew the library was going to be insane, because it's Nintendo (And it is. :)). To be honest, after months of waiting for launch to come, I enjoy it now as much as I did then.

This decribes me but replace DS with DSi and replace the word Sold it with it was my brother's and he moved out so now I don't have a 360 anymore.

Well I've just had my Wii now for a few months since I 'loaned' my 360 to my mom (probably never get it back lol) and I have been happy with just it since I don't have a lot of time for games right now. Sometime before xmas though I'm getting a PS3 and next year I have to play Alan Wake on 360.

I think Wii-only gamers can get by just fine if they're not total game geeks who game 24/7 because it has plenty of good games to play and is getting some great games in the near future but those of us who live, breath, eat and sleep games need moar.

I only own a Wii and DS (if we're talking about this gen only)

Used to have a 360. Sold it.

Getting a PS3 soon.

This decribes me but replace DS with DSi and replace the word Sold it with it was my brother's and he moved out so now I don't have a 360 anymore.

Whoops, I meant DSi.

The Wii isn't a bad console, it's ok, but it's not worth $250 yet. And Mario Party 8 sucks, let the series die Nintendo, what is your problem, LOL.

Add Mario and Sonic and their sports titles, then we're in the clean for Mario. Platformers and Kart racers are the only thing that series is good at.

RPGs aswell Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series are great games.

Damn, forgot about those.
