Games for Windows Live is offically dead

its been dead ever since age of empires collection deal but now it is offical. steam is making my wallet cry this summer, just so many games.

I don't get how it's "dead". All that I see is that the marketplace is moving to another website. Am I missing something?

GFWL is horrible... I seriously hope MS don't go splashing out billions just to try and round up Steam and all DD gamers to join their monopoly... I ranted about GFWL and how it ruined Dawn of War 2 and my mate told me Retribution did away with GFWL which made me really happy to see it wasn't one of Microsoft's requirements or something. I want MS to kill it, and quickly it's terrible!JohnF111

I actually like GFWL just because I can get gamer points with PC games :)

Sorry but GFWL is the worst of them all. Horrid DRM and they tried charging us for multiplayer. That's why we hate it. It's THE worst DD service out there and one of the worst DRMs.

From what I know Impulse is good, and Gamestop took over :P

It's just that little part in the ToS about not providing service after some amount of time. Don't know how much truth/effect there is to that though.

i was going to buy SSF4AE edition for PC, but GFWL is just a big nope for me

to me, Sins of the Solar Empires is the only thing that saves Impluse...IMO
