Yes, it seems most of them are, but there are exceptions. Exceptions where it's better to play the console version. This could be because of technical difficulties, different porting studios, anything. Also, this thread is about multiplats. So, don't come in saying The Last of Us. Also, emulation is out. Shit's not allowed here, and for argument's sake, don't grasp towards that, because it doesn't help your point.

I'll start with Nighfire. My favorite Bond game. Played it on Gamecube. Great mission variety, wonderful gunplay and sound effects. It nails being Bond. Not to mention the multiplayer is good fun, but on PC, this game isn't as great. It has less levels, hell, it doesn't even have any vehicle levels, which sucks. The levels are different, and the design of those levels suffers greatly. Along with that, you're stuck with a lazy, watered down port that doesn't do the proper version justice.

Nightfire is definitely one of those games you best experience on consoles. The PC version is inferior. I'm also playing through Everything or Nothing, and it's great. The whole thing made me realize how little Bond games there are on PC in general.

Pearce Brosnan was a terrible Bond. :p

There have been several games on PC that were worse than the console version at launch but it doesn't last too long, even travesties like Batman AK and Quantum Break now run better on PC than on consoles. Even if they are tied to the same graphical settings (which is very rare) higher resolutions and frame rates make the games more fluid.

Splinter Cell Double Agent

It's already a terrible game on consoles, the awful PC port makes it one of the worst games of all time.

There have been plenty of those over the years.

Final Fantasy VII with the crappy music, videos and inconsistent backgrounds and VIII with it's botched textures.

Various FIFA over the years that were last gen versions.

Recent PES that are last gen versions.

Like someone above said the randomly broken Splinter Cell Double Agent.

Gunplay of Nightfire on Consoles suck ass. PC version doesn't have on rail driving sections. Choose your poison.

Loved both for different reasons. Definitely my favorite Bond game ever. Want a sequel so bad :-(

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver had its best version on the Dreamcast. The PC one looked like a souped up PS1 game, and no input device would make it feel like the Dreamcast.

The initial port to Resident Evil 4 was so horrendous that not even mods could fix it. No mouse support, visually lifeless and all around unstable. Fortunately the Ultimate Edition fixes these issues.

I'll agree with Nightfire BUT that was when PCs and Consoles were very split. Games would be develop independently, many times by different studios, but shared the same name.

If a game shared the same name but were pretty much different games, could you compared them?

There are inconsistencies with the graphics and the music is MIDI-based, not the actual symphonic compositions in the PS version.

With mods, those things can be fixed, but it's a huge hassle to get them working. And I've spent whole evenings setting up mods for Skyrim.

Wait wait wait... mouse support? I was literally JUST playing this and said "fvck it" and sent it off to my backup drive because I couldn't bear the tank controls with the gamepad. Is it free-aim with the mouse but tank controls with the keyboard (I don't have a problem with the tank controls, it's the aiming that annoys me)?

This was basically Metroid Prime five years before Metroid Prime when it comes to gameplay structure. The best FPS consoles had for a long time(at least until Halo in 01),and still great today. Fantasic music as well.

The original PC version was just a Doom clone with level to level progression and using the old build engine. With no mouse control. Hard as balls too,and in the end kinda shit.

If you want to find a good example, go with Arkham Knight's early version or even better, Double Agent, which is still broken as hell on PC. Nightfire? Below average gunplay on Consoles which is heart of any first person shooter. Both versions are only same by name. Different experiences with their own set of pros and cons.

Ditto on Nightfire.

I'll also add:

Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut ('heavy' joypad controls and uncomfortable keyboard controls, plus glitchy graphics)

BloodRayne 1 and 2 (strange censorship of Nazi symbolism that even the GameCube version of the first game allowed, plus bad keyboard controls in the second game that plays best with a joypad, so much so I had to mod the game to play with a 360 controller).

Ok, you win. That was like, the absolute shittiest pc game I have ever SEEN!! It's not even the same Spiderman game anymore! Who the **** programmed it?!! High school kids?! It's like they were making the game only for the keyboard!

You should show this to WatchMojo. Those guys completely left this Spidey game out when they were doing that "top 10 worst pc games ever". I'd put this crap in number 3 at least!

I think he's talking about when Bond will man a gun turret like on the snowmobile and on one of Drake's hovercrafts. I still agree with you though, it's like all Gearbox played was Goldeneye and thought that all people remember of Bond was being an FPS, nevermind the implementation of driving levels made it feel like a Bond film of the era.

Plus, don't forget the PC version has cut story moments (PC version has a plothole over Bond's relationship with Dominique). Even GameCube/PS2 versions of Splinter Cell answered some important plot points that couldn't fit into gameplay.

I assume by "PC" you are talking about high-end systems vs mid/low-end consoles optimized for games, as opposed to what is better at a desk with a monitor vs. couch with a TV.

Umm...well I prefer Diablo 3 on consoles...I assume the PS4/XBONE run at 60 fps too. Plus system link and stuff.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is straightforwardly better on PS4/XBONE, it uses a more advanced engine.

Maybe Final Fantasy 13? That game runs like crap. I even had a slowdown to 22 fps on my PC ^_^

Halo?

I can't think of many off the top of my head. I mean, I can think of poorly performing ports that might as well be like playing the console versions, but as for games I'd rather not play on PC I don't know.

It's a problem in popular games. I'm not so sure about the PS4/XBO but the XB360 and PS3 were hacking nightmares for games like Call of Duty.

It has 7849 positive and 575 negative user reviews on Steam. That appears like it could be a good game on PC. I don't have any personal experience though but for £9.99 it's probably worth a toss of the dice.

Pc version of FF7 was better graphics wise but the music uses your pc's MID sound. And it usually makes the songs sound weird. But you can replace the songs with better versions too. That's what I did!

Before the dawn of steam I'm fairly certain there were a bunch of PC games that WEREN'T as great as their Console counter parts.

I mean sure they're playable, but games have come a long way since those days and now we have console games on PC that sometimes run BETTER than their Console counterparts.

Just one example of what I'm talking about. Megaman X PC vs Megaman X SNES

Cant agree with Fifa, its been better on PC for a couple of years now.

The career mode loads far faster and processes days faster. Then you have the choice of controller (ps3,ps4, 360, x1 etc)

Also MODS on Fifa are pretty good, there are logo mods to add the sky sports or BT sports Logo, there are extra stadiums available through MODS.

Best MOD of all is the "better career mode MOD" this fixes the career mode, modders doing a Skyrim here and fixing a game EA never bothered to fix.

@Cloud_imperium: Only good thing about Nightfire on PC is that it runs better. Gunplay isn't brilliant on that, either.
