Gears of War, Halo 3 and Mass Effect. Two of these did not disappoint and I bought the system about a month after Gears came out. It's currently dead (1st time) but I hope to have it back soon.
This is how my systesm were chosen mostly.....
Wii - SMG
PS3 - FFXIII and MGS4
360 - I basically chose it because it was the first one out
PC - Crysis
Dead Rising and Gears of Wars, that did it.
But what actually made me get a 360 was that the imported US Core systems were on sale.
I choose 360 because shooters and western RPGs are my favorite style of games and 360 is the console that has the best in those areas.
Shooters- 360 has the 3 best console shooters out . Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears and many more to come. heck even got orange Box out 2 months before PS3 and with Valve making it not EA. Killzone 2 or Haze will prolly not hold a candle to these games.
Western RPGs- Mass Effect, Fable, and many others. I like JRPGs but not near as much as western ones
Wii: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, other nintendo 1st party games
360: I have no idea why I suddenly bought it, perhaps it was because I knew Gears was being released in a few months, or maybe it was thoughts of halo 3 eventually. More then likley it was because I realized a price drop wasnt coming so there was no point to continue holding back.
PS3: Still waiting for KH3 so I don't own a ps3 yet. Also I know a ridiculous price drop will arrive in 3 years or so, about the time it will take for KH3 to arrive.
Though I'm primarily a PC gamer:
1) Mass Effect
2) ..........Mass Effect
3) Gears of War to a lesser degree, along with Halo 3.
My parents bought me an NES and Genesis, I didn't even ask for them.
Sega 32x - Virtua Fighter
Saturn - Virtua Cop
PS - FFVII
N64 - Goldeneye
PS2 - MGS2
XBOX - Fable
PS3 - MGS4
360 - Bioshock
360-Dead Rising,Geow,Mass Effect,H3 and Too Human,also a cleaner version of MUA
Ps2-all the great rpgs,Ratchet and clank,MGS 2 and 3
PS3 - Resistance, MGS4, LBP, FFXIII, GT5, GTA4.
PC - Crysis, HL series, Bioshock, and every other game I've loved for the past decade.
Future:
360 - Mass Effect.
Wii - SMG, MP3
Wii-Nintendo franchises (i'm a new nintendo fan), NMH, Fatal Frame, FF:CC:CC, SCL
PC-The Witcher, Dragon Age (i'm an SPRPGs lover and an MMORPGs hater)
DS-Super Mario 64 DS (haven't played SM64), too many games to list. Simply put, it is the successor to the gameboy, the best handheld.
Well i'm still to poor to own a current gen system but if i did buy one well
360- Halo 3, Mass Effect, Banjo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, Gears of war
PS3- MGS 4, Nina Gaiden Sigma
Wii - Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers
It was actually XBL that made me get the 360 and continue to play games with the friends I had made on the Xbox.
As far as current games.
Oblivion. It runs smoother and looks better on PS3. I've wanted to play this game ever since it was first annouced and I didn't have the funds to build a PC that will run it at uber quality. Either way.. I wanted to play Oblivion in the best way possible w/o breaking the bank.
Then there is Resistance. The Xbox fans try to bash it and say Perfect Dark is better (they have the console FPS god that is Halo so why they defend Perfect Dark is beyond me). But anyways! It's imaginative weapon design, challenging campaign, and great use of physics really drew me in.
Future games?? Gran Turismo 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4.
