didn't one of the tony hawk games get a 10?? anything else?

TH3 is the best of the series but i dont see why TH2 got such a high score. I thought 1 and 3 were much better.

id give it a 9.6, only skateboarding game i ever bought, which version did you have?

Perfect Dark deserved a 10 in my opinion... but they probably took off one point as it was basically a major Goldeneye gameplay update.phoenixan_akrau

It had framerate loss, quite a bit, thats the only reason I could see them taking 1 point away.

 Bottomline, FFIX is an afterthought and CC is a fantabulous game but its not their best but its leagues better than FFIX and many other games by Square, are.

i woulda taken a point off for requiring the expansion pack, without it the game couldnt use multiplayer

THPS4 was the best. The games have seriously declined since then.

God of War 2 or MGS 4 are Next.nanomecha4

Seeing as MGS4 is still well over a year away, it likely wont get a 10. After atrocious delays like that, MGS would need to be the SM64 of the new gen to score that. To top it off, if it has even near the amount of cutscenes as the previous ones.....8.

Necroposting this just for MGS4's 10 would be acceptable last year, but not now.:evil:

I find 10/10 ratings very disputable. I'd personally refrain from giving such a grade to any game, but the games I've played that did get one, just didn't deserve it. Yes, that includes Ocarina of Time.

Games I've played which'd deserve straight 10s in my view (and this might be a bit biased since I mainly play Nintendo consoles):

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Super Mario Galaxy

Perfect Dark

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

...And some more. Call me a conspiracist, but I think when a major reviewing site gives a 10 to a game that clearly doesn't deserve it, there might be a bit of money involved.

• Goldeneye
• Wario Land 3
• Tekken 3
• NFL 2K
• Super Mario Bros. Deluxe
• PErfect Dark
• NFL 2K1
• THPS2

These games all scored a 9.8 or 9.9, and would therefore be rounded up.

I don't know if that's true, because I think they'd refrain from calling a game "Perfect" if they didn't genuinely think that it was, so a game that would have scored 9.9 would be given a 9.5. I could be completely wrong though, but what got me thinking about this is that I genuinely think Super Mario Galaxy should have scored at least a 9.8, but, under GS's new scoring system scored a 9.5. Obviously GS might have just thought it was a 9.5 game, but under the old scoring system I could easily see it getting 9.8+
