It seems that games with actual level editors have gone away. Sure, we had Little Big Planet but I'm talking about level editors within games as a fun side thing.

I remember playing the hell out of Tenchu 2 because of its level editing capabilities. I'd like to see that return.

That said, am I missing games that have released in the last 5 years that have a level or even mission editor?

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has a "game master mode" with a comprehensive level editor/campaign maker, allowing people to create whole new missions/campaigns. There are thousands on Steam Workshop already. Can't say enough good things about this game.

You forgot to mention Super Mario Maker release on Wii U back in September 2015, that game was the best level editor you can play vs what Little Big Planet did.

Don't have time to play games? Man, sounds like you are ready to retire gaming :(

On PC this isn't as rare as on consoles but there still aren't that many games.

On Steam you can use the "has level editor" tag to look for games with a level editor. The result would look like this.

It found an impressive 1654 results. Though these are almost always PC only, so even if the game is a multiplat, you're likely not going to be able to edit levels on your console.

I think the new Doom has a level editor.

Snapmap or something like that.

Um, given the TC and how others on this forum (and hell, the freaking internet) feel about the Wii U, there's a reason for that.

@nintendoboy16: Super Mario Maker needs a Switch port if you ask me. It's the best level editor you can get on a console, it's just a shame it doesn't get a lot of praises around here :(

Its true they are fading away.

Companies want you to pay them for more content, rather than let you make your own for you / friends & community.

Timesplitters needs to come back desperately. 2 and Future Perfect had amazing level editors. A friend of mine and I spent days just playing around in Future Perfect with race courses and other non-shooter shit.

Yeah some weeks I can put in 70+ hours. I've bought 5 games in the last month (all AUS full priced games) and haven't even had the energy to install them, not only that but I've got kids, and unlike a Sony movie game I can't press a button to skip lol.

@i_p_daily: Learn to manage your time/days if you want to play games from start to finish. Yes I have a daughter, a career, and it may sound like I don't have time to have fun but I do know how to manage my time to do everything around the house :)

If I can do it, so can you ^-^

I know this post is old, and the game is from about 6 years ago, but it still has active DLC being released and players playing it, so I would say ARMA 3. Has a full on live mission editor where you can create and edit scenarios on the fly in multiplayer, however from what I have hear this game takes some time to fully master, and is only for PC
