Definitely COD 4. Almost the whole world plays it and it has almost infinite replayability.

As for GTA 4...I think it deserved a 9.0 - 9.1. Anything higher was unmerited IMO.

I have never played a game that I think deserves a 10. I mean, correct me if my wrong, but a 10/10 means that a game coudn't have been meaningfully improved upon at its time of release, correct?

If that is indeed what a 10/10 is (some would even argue that it represents a "perfect" game) then yeah, I have most definitely never played a 10 game... and I've played alot of games.

I think the poor friendly AI in COD4 keep it from 10 status.

i think final fantasy 7 was a 10.

but thats my opinion and i think its hard to say if a game deserves a 10. as hard as determining what is the greatest game ever. some games deserves 10s in some peoples eyes and not in others. but if a reviewer representing a company says the game is a 10, then according to that company its a 10. so according to at least two reviews sites mgs4 is a 10. but thats just two reviewers out of 6 billion people. so a game can really only be perfect in your own mind, but you can never say a game is officially perfect, because its subjective. but i think its fine when review site gives out 10s. then i know its a worthwile game.

Good point, but seriously Ratcht and Clank Up Your Arsenal deserves atleast a 9.5-10. Shure it's a bit of a strech, but at it's height R&C:UYA was good fun, had great multiplayer (and online too), a funny yet great story, and buckets of extra content. Till today, I'm still not bored of it.

anyways, i think Fire Emblem (FE7 in Japan) and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (FE8 in Japan) should have both gotten 10s. they're the ones that have kept me addicted the longest and I'm currently still playing The Sacred Stones right now. It's a shame that the first 6 games were only released in Japan.

LOL wut? Infiinte replayability? Its one of the most linear shooters I have ever seen, it has endlessly respawning enemies, dumb AI, and numerous other faults...

The multiplayer is alright but there are already many great multiplayers out that, and CoD4 is certainly not head and shoulders above them.

Any ways I think I only have a handful of games I would rate a 10...

Those being.. Freespace 2, Baldur's Gate 2... And thats it.. Possibly a few others..

Honestly I thought Uncharted deserved a 10.......but that's because I don't play online (infact I hate it).

I still to this day haven't played a game that was as beautiful and action packed. It helps that it wasn't a very long game too because my attention span these days is crap (with 2 kids I don't have time anyways).

Gears was fun but I just wasn't into the story as much as Uncharted. Other than those two, nothing came close.

as a PC gamer alone.. There are Battlefield games, The huge variety of Half-Life mods/spin offs (Counterstrike Source, Day of Defeat Source, Team Fortress 2, etc etc), Unreal tournaments (except the most recent one)... Infact every place I went to rated Team Fortress 2 as the multiplayer and not CoD4 of the year.. I suppose if your on the console there really isn't much to choose from, but this is a debate which I whole heartedly disagree with.. If anything it should have been scored lower, I was grossly disapointed with the game in every area.

Believe it or not...CS is the only and I mean only one I would agree with. But COD4 def held its own. At any point in time theres at least 10,000-100,000 people on the network alone on PSN.

I thought TF2 wasn't that great to be honest, but then again this is coming from someone who prefers Counter Strike...

Obviously the multiplayer aspect is enticing enough to merit replayability. Popularity has a lot to do in this sense since its what fuels the MP aspect of the title...no?

COD4 flaunts enough styles of MP play to merit console replayability IMO.

Military advisors don't have anything to do with the actual gameplay, they ADVISE about the MILITARY aspects, like tactics that the soliders/terrorists might use that could be put in the game, what weapons should be put it for each different type of solider, the kind of environments and where threats could hide in those enironments. He made a perfectly valid point, it's nothing like real combat, you telling me in real life when you're getting shot at you just crouch down to get your health back...or that your team-mates don't help you at all or that every terrorist you are fighting seems to have only you in their sights. No game will ever fully replicate War because you wouldn't want a game too. The game'd be too hard and most people would be shocked by it, you get into a fire fight and use some tactics from usual FPS's and oh dear your dead. You're walking along a road to your next objective, a car blows up, oh dear your dead, You'r sitting at a checkpoint and a woman comes up to you asking to pass, she's a suicide bomber, oh dear you're dead.

Deus Ex. I've played games that have come close to feeling like a 10 (Fallout, Grim Fandango, Half Life, StarCraft and some others) but Deus Ex is the only one that gave me that "holy **** this is the greatest game ever" feeling.RobbieH1234

Orange Box - best value in a compilation ever, and Portal ('nuff said)

Resident Evil 4 - unique gameplay, set a new standard for graphical detail, hopelessly addictive if not infinitely replayable

Super Mario 64 - pretty much defined 3D platforming, and brought a new level of freedom and exploration to the gaming world

Beyond Good & Evil, Mass Effect, Oblivion, Orange Box, Omikron: the Nomad Soul(the first game to incorporate ALL styles of gaming...and thats worth a 10) , Me :)
