Games you had a bad feeling about but got anyway, and regreted later on.

Mafia 2, when it was first being shown I was on and off if I would get it. Finally it got delayed and I though I might as well get it after the delay. It came out and I still put it off. Finally I get it and I was highly dissapointed and the flaws I noticed were worse then I expected, and the story was not worth it.

Battlefield 3, I avoided the MW3 vs BF3 crap but honeslty I was not sure if bf3 would be a safe bet. I did not like bad company 2 and in my head I was expecting bf3 to play differently and better. I honesly am already considering selling it(I sold mafia 2 awhile ago) and giving it to someone who might enjoy it, because nothing about this game has appealed to me.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. I didn't really regret it but I knew I wasn't really going to like it on a personal level just like the first one. When I actually bought and played it, I was right.

Stonghold 3, such a buggy/bad game for $49

Marvel vs. Capcom 3. No, I don't dislike it... I just didn't realize 'Ultimate' was just around the corner.meconate

Actually forget my previous post, I forgot about MvC3. But I actually did dislike it and 'Ultimate' is just the tip of the iceberg.

Borderlands is another game that I regret getting. Wake me up when the next timesplitters is coming out because I am going to sleep on first person shooters for awhile.

Oblivion... sorta knew it wasn't my kind of game goin in... but it was on sale as a steam deal :/ Don't like how it looks, controls, feels boring and story is not interesting to me.

Idk I might give it another shot at another time or I might just straight into Skyrim (not likely). I have tons of other games I'd rather play right now

Almost Every Dragon Ball Z game, almost every 3d Sonic game, Modern Warfare 2, Oblivion, Final Fantasy XIII, Call of Duty 3, Time Shift, Fracture, Turok, Left 4 Dead, Pokemon Pearl, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, ect..

Well i wasnt going to get marvel vs capcom 3 at launch because it was bare bones lagged and what not.Now i got it for 13£ it has no lag but i hate phonix ): ultimate doesnt bother me its that lack of dlc marvel vs capcom got.

Just recently, RAGE. Reading the early impressions/reviews, I decided to cancel my preorder. Unfortunately, my order was already processed.

The game was okay, definitely not worth the money. Non-existant story and a short campaign. You were just an errand boy.

I can get ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 for 24£ but the fight sticks are jokes one is for like 120£ thats stupid.

Not really a bad feeling but I did regret it after it was bought and that was mario galaxy. That game put me to sleep.

I have a bunch from earlier this gen, so I'll pick a more recent one like Okami. I knew it'd be nothing like and much more boring than Zelda, and I was right. Just another example of why I shouldn't trust review scores or system wars opinions over my own gut feeling.

I usually get a game if its cheap or if its an insanely hyped game I know I will love, so usually no.

I regret getting a few PS2 games, but I was younger then and I never got a bad feeling beforehand.

One game that might be closest to that feeling is Killzone 2. It was a really fun game and had fun multiplayer and single player, but it lacked any form of co-op and the multiplayer took me like 18 hours to reach all the way. I also only had a few friends that ever played it, and since most of our friends who didn't buy it played CoD4 we usually just played that more so all our buddies were playing the same game.

Killzone 3, I only had one friend buy it, but it was so fun and so much better then Killzone 2 that I didn't regret that at all, though I was wary beforehand the co-op was a blast with my mate.

I purchased Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles and I regret doing so. Demon's Souls just feels... bland. The environments have absolutely no life to them. Pretty much no story, no variety in gameplay. No open world, no nothing. I got through the first level and boss and just tossed the game aside. I bought it knowing it would probably not be my kind of game but everybody praised it to be the greatest game of this generation.

Valkyria Chronicles I also purchased knowing it was not my sort of game. Anime style, japanese, turn based battle system with incredibly corny voice acting that made me cringe. But I got it thinking that I should atleast give it a try and maybe open up some more variety in the games I'd play. But it just didn't work out. Beyond Resident Evil and MGS I can't get into any Japanese games.

Oh and Gears Of War. Everybody gave it like 9.5's and so I figured it would be an incredible game. Played it only to find out the characters just grunt and yell out "AMBUSH" in every room. You then go into cover and pop out and shoot. You do that for about 7-9 hours and then the credits roll. This game I was hyped for a bit though but it turned out so terrible. It was a 6.5 game at best.

The most recent one was Mafia II. I had a feeling it would be boring, but I bought it anyway for some reason. That was a mistake. Total waste of $60.

Another would be Darksiders. It looked kind of fun, but I had my doubts about it.

Got a few hours in, and finally gave up on it. So boring. Luckily it was only $20.

Mushroom Men Spore Wars... I can't explain what I was thinking. I just saw it at Wal-Mart one day and I bought it. Kinda... kinda hated myself for a little while after that one.

Sonic the Hedgehog on the Xbox 360. It got terrible reviews, but I bought it anyway. I literally played it for a day and sold it the next.

LA Noire. Seriously overrated and extremely boring. todd2r

Most recently, I'd say Black Ops and Red Dead Redemption.

Black Ops. I was afraid it wouldn't be all that great, considering my hatred for MW2. I was right for the most part. I'll still play the occasional Zombies match, but I try to stay as far away as possible from both the campaign and the multiplayer.

Halo ODST. It shouldn't have existed.

burnout paradise. I heard from some people that it sucked and other said it was the best of the series (complete ****ing lie). I played it and I hated it. despite it being an extremely gorgeous looking game, they still ruined what i consider to be one of the best racing franchises of all time.

- getting to the challenges you want to play is the hardest part of the game. they put you in an open world with no "quick travel." they dont give you some kind of menu that alows you to instantly play challenges you have won before or something like that. its just an inconvenient game. what was wrong with the arcade format where I could pick my maps and challenges and I didnt have to manually drive to each challenge? (especially when road rage was the only one I even want to play in this particular game)

- races are now more about navigation and short cuts rather than intense combat racing.

- there is no crash mode (and no, "showtime" is not a suitable replacement)

- the menus are terrible and convoluted as ****

- online races are totally unbalanced

- they might as well have named it "DLC: the game." this is a game that starts you off, not at the game's menu screen, but at the PSN store. could they be more money grubbing?

Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire, expect I actually enjoyed LA Noire a bit and was really pissed when PC was announced for it. Alpha Protocol sucked, and so did Section 8 but I didn't even pay a buck for those (I did after shipping though :P )
