Is it possible??? A game that has no chance of flopping? What about game like Mass Effect Andromeda? Is there still a slight chance? Let me know your thoughts.

I think there will be titles certain reviewers will go apeshit over. Visuals, presentation take the upper hand.
But hey, it's what they like.
RE7.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict it's going to garner excellent critical claim across the board. It's been receiving glowing praise from almost everywhere that's previewing it and is the franchises' 20th anniversary so Capcom's assuredly going to be putting serious effort in to make this a memorable one. I'm feeling RE4-tier quality incoming.
Two others I'd put money on are TLoU 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Persona 5, but only because it is already out in Japan, and e know what the reception to the game has been, as well as details and intricacies about the game.
What do you mean by 'flopping'?
Exactly my thoughts. So we'll have to go with sales & score on here, because the OP is seriously lacking when it comes to content in his threads.
@SolidGame_basic: this is a dumb SW term and gets thrown around waaayy too much just based on score.
Review Score means nothing if you really want to start throwing around the word flop this day an age you should really approach it like the movie industry. It took "x" amount of money to make a game and the game made "this". If it's even it was a meh moderately successful game. If it made way more game is great, if it made way less then it's a flop.
Basing your opinion on the option of other people is just retarded. Case in point I will be getting the Friday the 13th game even if it scores a 3 here, cause it's Friday the 13th and I have to have it and play it.
I don't know if anyone can know 100% a game won't flop but we can hope our favorites are as good as we want them to be and it sells well. Some games are terrible and sell like hotcakes while others great but sell poorly.
Mass Effect:Andromeda
The last of us part 2
Zelda:BOTW
Red dead redemption 2.
South Park:The Fractured But Whole.

Got to agree with you on this one, what exactly consist of a flop anyways? I've seen the word "flop" tossed around in here all the time and it makes no sense.
@BigShotSmoov007: ? Around here if a game scores lower than an 8 it's a flop.
Which is the dumbest thing I've ever read.
Has gaming media and many gamers have bought into the facade Naughty Dog make games.
These people are cinephiles reviewing mo-cap.
@BigShotSmoov007: yes, yes it is. Saddest of all people that hype up these games never have intention of buying or playing the game. Yet still run around calling everything a flop?
When in reality the term should be "my expectation wasn't met" or "was met". Just easier to say flop I suppose
@BigShotSmoov007: what OP fails to realize is the complete fail in his topic title "games you KNOW will not flop". If you are a complete fan boy over a series or game. It your mind and opinion it would take a lot for the game to be a bad experience in your eyes. I play and love COD it's never let me down and I always get the experience I am expecting to get. No COD game has flopped for me. Cause everything is based on your own view and opinion. I don't play a lot of different games, every single Final Fantasy, Persona, basically and Japanese stylized game has been a flop in my eyes, isn't gonna hold my attention, get my money, or make me wanna play it even if it scores a 100

Pretty much accurate, the term flop is usually meant on sales and no one can ever predict what will or won't flop. If you talking about what games you know will meet up to your expectation then you have a true discussion but to throw the word flop around and give it a whole new definition that makes no sense is kinda dumb. Someone's opinion on something doesnt' dictate that something is a flop.
There is no way you can know if a game wont flop.
Knowledge requires evidence... or in the case of mathematics, proof. Anything else is just belief, strongly held belief perhaps. But belief is belief.
I have played Rimworld, it is great, but for all I know, the developer could do something really stupid later down the line. Or the reviewers could have radically different opinions than me.
Edit.
Regarding some highly hyped titles that I care for,
Regarding some highly hyped titles that I don't care for,
Sonic Mania. I haven't seen a more sure thing since back when I called that the Giants were going to sweep the Detroit Tigers in 2012.

hmm.. if you want me to define it for you - how about, does not perform as expected? That way there is still room for interpretation.
Literally nothing. Everything has a chance at flopping. The closest i can think of is DQVIII on the 3DS, and thats technically already out and a port of one of the most popular dragon quest games.
For all those saying Zelda and Last of us 2- Twilight Princess got an 8.9, Skyward Sword got a 7.5 (deserved), and Last of Us got an 8, so anything is possible with those two franchises.
I'd say the new South Park game is a lock for a 9 if it's like the last one.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is another definite 9 or 10

Perform how? As meaning the game is broken or doesn't live up to someone's expectation? If the game doesn't live up to someone expectation that doesn't make it a flop.
Breath of the Wild and Persona 5 are my picks. The former is an extremely ambitious project that reinvigorates the Zelda franchise and Persona 5 has gotten a lot of acclaim in Japan and is a top-tier JRPG franchise so it's most likely going to be the same in the US. I'll also throw in the new 3D Mario game (assuming it has Mario 64 elements in it) since 3D Mario series games are always critically acclaimed.
The only game that comes to mind is RDR2.
It's lacking the Benz though :)

@SolidGame_basic:
I'm actually a huge fan of Mass Effect but I have a strange feeling that the new one will flop.
I don't count professional reviewers as valid opinions. The way they have to play through a bunch of games for their job greatly effects their experience. They have a deadline.
The general public on the other hand, chooses exactly what we want to play and have the time to fully enjoy/master/explore our games as we please.
Having said that, it's usually the straight forward, high presentation games that get praised by the media.
They better suit the circumstances of the reviewer.
The word "flop" is a term used in system wars by fanboys to irritate people with. The term has been used against every game ever made by one fanboy or another and this trend seems likely to continue. From a system wars perspective what the term really means is "I'm a mentally challenged fanboy and trying to annoy you". The actual definition of "flop" means it lost money. That is not something that should particularly concern a gamer I would think. More a worry for stock holders. If we could replace the word "flop" with the word "disappointing" this place would come across as less brain dead.

99% of systems wars involves topics with trolls trying to irritate people. Although, the big games that I think will not "flop" have to be RDR2 and Mass Effect. Everything Rockstar puts out sells insane amounts and the hype around Mass Effect is quite strong. Maybe to go a step further, I am a little worried that Ghost Recon & Prey might not meet sales expectations. I don't think Prey is that strong of an IP and Ghost Recon seems like its not at all Ghost Recon.
The Last of Us 2 will not flop. Naughty Dog is not one of my favorite developers by any means, but they are very consistent in terms of polish and quality. There is a big fan base for both Naughty Dog as a developer and The Last of Us as a franchise. PS4 is the most popular home console, and it's an exclusive, so I am sure it will sell.
The only games I know will not flop are ones that we already know are shit so there is no expectation of greatness to flop.
Sales?
TLoU 2
Mass Effect Andromeda
Red Dead Redemption 2
Next COD
Scores?
TLoU 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Now for Kicks I'll say those I think will flop in scores and/or in sales:
Horizon: Zero Dawn (Its Guerrilla. They arent as bad as some say they are but they arent also anything special to go by)
Resident Evil 7 (I see no hype for this game and the fact is slow paced again may detract some gamers away)
