The Good

-Excellent flight model and smooth controls make flying simple and fun
-Exciting action surrounds you with huge explosions, radio chatter, and squadrons of enemy fighters
-Looks amazing, yet still maintains an even frame rate
-You can experience the excitement online with a number of great multiplayer modes.

The Bad

-First half of the campaign is a little bland
-Not as many aircraft or missions as prior installments.

Been up awhile...

I've read that review... Seems on par with other reviews for AC games...

I guess the series has a consistency to it for the most part.

i dunno if i would buy the X360 for 1 game. Im not saying the X360 only has 1 game, but if AC is the only X360 game u wanted...i dont think its worth it.

Well, if we are going by GS, then every PS3 game will flop. Anybody that has half a brain would now that GS ratings are only one opinion. To get a true feel for the game you have to look at all the major rating sites. Therefore R&C did not flop. It was hyped AAA and it got AAA.

I do agree with the fanboy mags, but IGN and 1up are also fairly non biased reviewers at the moment.

This game looks brilliant though. I have never played an ace combat game before, but this one is making me want to try this genre out. I have never heard any hype about this game yet, which surprises me because this game looks magnificent.

You can scrap IGN from not being a fanboy site. They have their own sections dedicated to with the Wii, PS3, PSP, XBOX360, etc. and the IGN PS3 reviews are 9 times out of 10 overrated. They are probably the worst reviewers on the whole site IMO because their reviews never measure up to what my gaming experience is. Take the R:FoM review. They gave it a AAA score and said lots of great things about it. I nearly fell asleep playing that game it was so generic and bland.

As far as R&C goes, from playing the demo I thought it will get an 8.0 here, but I had a feeling GS would be hard on it because of the lack of MP, co-op and a lot of other things that should just be standard in todays gaming world. If a game like Bioshock could barely get AAA here, games like Uncharted, HS and R&C have no shot. I wouldn't be surprised to see SMG get the GS backhand with an 8.5 which would have the sheep grabbing their pitch forks andtorches ready to burn down the GS HC, LOL!!! :lol: Of course I think SMG will share the same fate at Bioshock and barely scrape by with a 9.0 because it is Mario after all.
