Gamespot GOTY nominees - early discussion / predictions (just for fun)

Obvious early nominees

1. MGS4
2. GTA IV

Here are some very strong looking games a lot are expecting to live up to the Gamespot/gamer hype - hypothetically , lets say they do really well (unless you are absolutely against it) and get nominated too so that makes 6 games ..... we need 4 more nominees , what say you ?

1. Spore
2. Fallout 3
3. Gears of War 2
4. LittleBigPlanet

What do you think the other 4 will be (they usually pick 10 total) if you had to predict right now ? If you feel one or two of the games picked above won't get nominations , feel free to state that and replace them with something else. You can give a reason why too.

Things to keep in mind

• Don't forget about the upcoming PC games , console lovers tend to forget about the PC.
• They can include expansions
• They can included handheld games
• Don't forget about games that have already come out ..... SSBB (9.5) , Burnout Paradise , etc.
• This is what you think will do well here and be picked by Gamespot , maybe put you fanboyism aside for a minute if you want to , or not ...... all are welcome.

So , pick 4 games for the other spots .... maybe more if you think some of those games chosen won't be nominated.

Again , this is just for fun for the people who want to speculate , don't blow a gasket over it.

Good question. Probably MGS4, GTA IV, Spore, LBP, Gears 2, maybe Brawl or Resistance if it lives up to the hype.

Mirrors Edge and Dead Space I think have a very outside chance if they come together right.

Fallout 3 (not really interested but there is a lot of hype from the press)

Gears 2 (best shooter guaranteed)

LBP (even though i have no interest in this game)

hmm..because , the more you talk about the game the better it becomes ? I guess then fallout 3 is going to be the game of the century :P . the main reason people talk about LBP so much is because it's a new feaure for consoles

LOl, i was serious :P. My others besides from the ones you picked, Fable 2, Banjo and Civ Revolution.

If i was to make a list for my GOTY tho, it would prob come down to LBP, too human, Civ Rev and Fable 2

you are talking abut winning , well but those are just the nominees and crysis has a good shot at that. also, against gta iv, mgs iv, spore - i really don't see any of the other two also winning

Yes! RotA is my pick for sleep of the year, but now it'll be a close call with Siren and Dark Sector. Both games that really surprised me.

My pick for some of the nominees:

the winner for me is MGS4, cuz it also got a 10/10, but it deserved it... unlike some others >.>

Neither games do IMO. GTA4 deserves awards definitely,but Spore just looks too good,I doubt GTA4 will top it.

No way they wouldn't nominate it.

Or they would have just proved that their ratings on games are pointless.

Crysis Warhead is just an expansion, and I doubt it would make a list of only ten games.

In no particular order, it will be:

1. Metal Gear Solid IV

2. Grand Theft Auto IV

3. Super Smash Brothers Brawl

4. Spore

5. Little Big Planet

6. Gears of War 2

7. Persona 4

8. Mercenaries 2

9. Mirror's Edge

10. Far Cry 2

I would obviously have a different list with more Wii games and Left 4 Dead, but I think this is fairly accurate to what GameSpot will have.

I don't really understand why people are putting Resistance 2 above Far Cry 2 personally...
