Now I've been a member of this site since 2002. I lurked before that. I came up when the whole Cow, Lemming, Sheep, and Hermit names were created. I remember when anything under AAA became a flop on SWs and all that good stuff. It's been fun when I look back... but now I can't say that I think of Gamespot the same as I once did. I used to think that GS's reviews were superior to everybody else with a few minor setbacks. Now I can't go off of these lack luster reviews anymore. The whole bad ass moto that the site has about reviewing games isn't needed and it's a bit old.
This site hasn't grown much since I started here. It's too strict and it feels like a kid orientated board now that I have grown up. Gamespot should of never changed the review system, now they can blindly give games whatever score they want and the users of the site cannot just see exactly why the game got the score it got. The whole .5 incriment scoring system is just lame, it's too general with the amount of games that come out now.
I feel like I've been loyal to the sites reviews since I joined, now I'm done with em. The system was unique, now it's just stale. And giving great games like R&C a 7.5 makes the decision that much easier also. I rarely EVER bought a game that scored below AA status at GS. But after playing R&C for PS3 and seeing how great the game is, I just wonder how in the hell can somebody possibly give it a 7.5? The same as Conan? Heavenly Sword scored an 8 from here and R&C is clearly a better game in every single category. Reviews like that have made me think about the sites credibility. GS isn't where it used to be. I'm pretty sure people will bash me but I don't care, audios GS. You're heading in a bad direction, go back to the roots, and this is coming from a guy who's been a part of your site for 5 years.
Peace
